dreamt last night that the school I am on the wait list for, called me and before she could say anything I said "I accept! Thank you!", but thye were asking me to come interview. Then I brought my banjo and started playing. Cannot wait for this to be over.

anybody else find the task of keeping up with one's field intimidating and overwhelming?

I think about this a lot, especially since I am changing fields. I'm big into systems theory so the fact that everything is connected to everything else, makes it daunting, so the challenge for me is to keep my eyes on the trees (my area of specialty) while not forgetting the forest (the rest of the field)!

Maybe it's just me but I think it is sort of rude for people to ask you your stats... you can't just run a linear regression and come up with a formula for acceptance. If people want to post stats, they will but if they don't, respect their privacy ... just a thought.
