  1. Lots of good, encouraging words here - http://www.bustedtees.com/poehlerfey2016
  2. I got an offer from Louisville late last night via an email from the Director of Graduate Studies. I was absolutely not expecting to hear good news this early, nor did I think I had a chance at such a great school. I'm pretty sure I haven't stopped smiling all day. In addition to the acceptance, I was told that I was being nominated for a fellowship, so there's a chance that they are notifying in waves. Hope everyone else will hear good news soon!
  3. Looks like it! Congrats to you as well. I'm definitely really excited about visiting the program and seeing Louisville. This will be my first time doing more than just driving through the city.
  4. I just got news from the University of Louisville! I was not even remotely expecting good news from such a great school, but I'm so excited!
  5. I'm teaching two sections of freshman composition, taking Composition Theory and 18th Century British Lit, and finishing up my thesis. Once my thesis is handed in, I'll be a much happier camper.
  6. After a BA and MA in Lit (finishing up right now), I'm super excited about making the switch to Rhet/Comp for the PhD. Virginia Tech Carnegie Mellon University Purdue University University of Kentucky University of Louisville Texas Christian University University of Texas - Austin University of Houston Florida State University University of South Carolina Louisiana State University Good luck to everyone! I'm definitely hoping that we will all start getting news soon.

    Austin, TX

Echoing a lot of the posters above, I feel like just about every personality can find their place in Austin. I have a good friend who is the epitome of a hippie who loves it. My younger sister is doing her undergrad there, and she is a preppy/sorority type, and she LOVES it. All of my best friends from high school who are fun, smart, slightly nerdy types did their undergrad there, and they all loved it. It's just a really great, cool city to live in. My husband and I are both looking to get out of Texas and experience different areas of the US, but we if we ever move back, then we will definitely try to make Austin home.
  8. Based on what's been written for previous years, my best guess is that if we don't know now then we aren't accepted. I highly doubt they have a waitlist since they have the tiered admissions (funded and unfunded). Of course, this assumption is based on zero information outside of grad cafe, so take it with a grain of salt. This is only speaking for PhD candidates though. Does Nebraska automatically consider PhD applicants without a masters for their MA program? I'd be happy with that at this point.
  9. And an hour later... I haven't seen any changes yet. Anybody?
  10. In case anyone was curious, my friend who applied to CU's MFA received her rejection Saturday, so those decisions have been made as well.
  11. Has anyone heard anything from Nebraska yet? I'm pretty sure they are on Spring Break this coming week, and it seems strange that they haven't notified anyone yet.
