  2. Maddie, Have you checked your status on loyola's application website? I have and it still says "under review by committee". I am going to visit Gallaudet this week in the event that I do get accepted off the waitlist...If for some reason I don't like it as much as towson, I will remove my name to give others a better chance Seriously, goodluck!
  3. Maddie, I just got my letter from Gallaudet stating that I am also waitlisted. So, I emailed the contact number on the letter, Robin Goshen I think? I asked her where I was on the wait list. The waitlist IS ranked and she told me that I was in the top 15! You should go ahead and do that. Let me know if you need her email addres! Goodluck

  5. Are you talking about UMD's application website? Because I don't even see my waitlist decision on that...I got an email with the letter attached In my opinion, no news is good news.

  9. I had to submit a $300 deposit by March 1st if I wanted to hold my spot, which I obviously did. If I receive other admittances and end up deciding against Towson, I guess I will just have to let them know then...I don't know if there is a deadline for that...

  12. Thanks Maddie. I am an out-of-field applicant (animal science major) but I took my SLP prereqs at University of MD college park. I loved MOST of the faculty (all but one who will remain nameless, but who holds an important position in the grad program) and just thought that would be the best choice because I was already familiar with it. However, I really enjoyed my visits to Towson, Loyola, and GWU. Although I wasn't that impressed with Towson's clinic, they are in the process of renovating a building which will house the speech and hearing clinic, the kinesiology, and the autism clinics. How cool is that! It should be ready by this fall!. I like the fact that almost 100% of Towson's professors/faculty still do clinical work. Although I am interested in some aspects of research, I am way more interested in the clinical aspect, so that's important to me. Loyola has coursework schedule that is favorable to getting clinical placements. Also they have some neat programs for children with autism, like a dance/acting program. Also, Loyola is 15 mins from my house...which rocks. If price and distance from my house were not issues, GWU would probably be my first choice... I really hope you get into Towson and Loyola, and any other school you are interested in!

  14. Maddie! Finally someone else who is applying to some of the same schools as me! I inquired about Loyola a week or so ago and was told that decisions would go out towards the end of March.
  15. I have heard nothing from Gallaudet! Although I submitted my application mid January, I just received a confirmation email that my app was complete and ready for review on 2/16. I might shoot them an email on monday, so if I hear anything, I will let you guys know! I only applied to schools in DC and MD because I have a house, fiance, and lots of dogs here...so to tell you the truth, I applied to Gallaudet without knowing that much about it. I have NO experience with deaf/hard of hearing populations, so I thought I might be behind others...but maybe not... Thanks for the info gator
  16. I am applying to Gallaudet, but have not visited yet. What do you like about it gatorgirl?
  17. Your experiences sound amazing! What school are you leaning towards?

  23. I applied to 4 of the same schools, UMD, Towson, Loyola, and GWU. Towson sent out 50 early decision acceptances in early february. If any of the admits deny, people on the waitlist get bumped up, BUT i have not seen anyone post a Towson waitlist status. I emailed Valerie Brownlee from UMD and she emailed me a letter with my waitlist decision. That was a couple weeks ago... I have not heard from GWU or Loyola. Were you applying to Loyola's 2 or 3 year program? Hope this helps...
  24. I just wanted to add to Belowthree's list: ***You know you have under a 3.0 when you leave the GPA section blank while submitting your admissions results.
