  3. any book recommendations ppl going for a professional degree? I would love a few for my 16 hrs plane flight next week!
  4. rejected from 1st choice program at UofT making me sad because I realized I applied to 4 diff. programs at UofT over the last 5 yrs (1 for undergrad admission, one for transferring after 2nd yr and 2 grad school programs). Due to various reasons, I weren't able to take some of offers and was rejected from the one I would actually take. o well, if I ever decided to go for a PhD, I can try again haha
  5. Thanks for the update! I haven't heard from waterloo either and thats what I assumed. I think I will attend another program at Waterloo since they accepted me
  6. anyone also applied to MPS at Waterloo? its the only public admin related program I applied to. Thoughts?
  7. so we should expect a decision next week then?

  9. I need to start preparing myself for the worst. I was feeling really good about waterloo but seems like everyone else heard back already. Maybe my experiences didn't exactly constitute as working mph experience? haha i kinda applied it as my safety school. really finger crossing for UofT tho even tho its crazy competitive. best of luck!
  10. anyone still waiting for waterloo mph and uoft health promo, the wait is too long =/
  11. sorry to hear about UofT, Did you got any pubs from your summer research? your last 2 yrs gpa is pretty decent tho. I have similar stat so I am wondering
  12. my stat isnt that great. 3.8 gpa and some relevant research publications (RA for 2 yrs), some volunteering at health fairs and other health settings. I am not sure about the uoft one but waterloo one should be ok hopefully. (haven't heard back yet tho; I was accepted into another program at Waterloo)
  13. thanks, I e-mailed and got the same response. just want it over with. haha
  14. Congratz to Globule and epi2012, out of curiosity, what are your stats and experience like?
  15. Thanks! How are you liking the program so far?
  16. yes I read that somewhere too, I applied to health promo stream tho. Surprised they made a decision for epi so early, what I've been reading is that they don't make decision til late april last yr.
  17. what are your stats like? I also applied to waterloo and I haven't heard anything yet
  18. which stream did you guys applied to? I just got off the phone with dalla lana and they said we can expect a decision in mid april
  19. ^ you are right! I just emailed them, they don't need a deposit (weird - I remember paying a substantial amount for my undergrad). Thanks for your answers!
  20. Hi, so I am applying for public health programs and in my personal statement, I talked quite a bit about my undergraduate thesis, which is related to public health on some level. Turns out recently, an NGO association would like to use my thesis as background for lobbying purposes to the gov't. I don't know if I should or how to tell my applications program about this update tho? (I mean it's gonna work positively toward my application, but how am I going to update them since I submitted everything mid Jan - do they even care at this point?).
  21. Nope this is a professional master program in Canada so it is unfunded, I didn't apply to any research master (probably would've got in since I do have research exp as undergrad) I thought it will be easier to get a job after and I don't intend to pursue a phd anytime soon. But the professional master program is kinda expensive and I've been having some doubts lately, hoping this is just a phrase. haha
