Dropping by to say hello to members of this thread. I am an applicant for the Political Science F12 cycle who was rejected across the board. My research objectives are mainly about Internet, media and authoritarian politics so I am thinking about also applying to some of the communication programs next year, since I found out late in my application process that faculty members in comm programs also matched my interest. My undergraduate degree is in English, with a minor in Animation. I am now (hopefully) finishing an MA in political science. I hope you wouldn't mind if I ask some questions here. Is it only advisable to apply for comm phd if one has a lot of work experience?

Two rejections in one day...Ouch...

I guess most of the schools follow the notify those who we truly want and let the losers wait with false hope policy... Somehow I wish that polisci had an auto-reject system just like law schools.

My Fall 2012 cycle is 95% over right now, sigh. I don't think I will be standing any chances at Berkeley or Maryland..

Got an email reply that the results will be finalized by the end of February. Strange that I already see stuff in the survey. By the way, last year's mass rejection was on March 1st right?

My mother has got a BSc in physics and my dad is a professor in non-linear optics. May have great connections if I would ever apply for science and engineering but apparently I am a case of genetic mutation as I suck at maths and sciences. (I am Asian, sigh.)
