  1. Following on from this... my I-20 mentions a 17k scholarship but I haven't had any letter from SPPD about this just an acceptance from the Grad school dated 23/02 - anyone had any experience with this? Not sure if it means I got funding or not?
  2. I can imagine they might for some people, shortlisted PHD candidates for example but i'd be surprised if they did for a standard Masters applicant, just due to the sheer volume of them!
  3. Just got an acceptance from USC (letter to follow from SPPD apparently but wasn't in this DHL packet so not sure when)! So excited!!!!
  4. I imagine they will ask you about both of these things, so prepare them equally. Commitment to public service questions tend to be more about how you've demonstrated it thus far but they will definitely want to know how that and the masters will tie in to your future plans.
  5. I don't see why you would get down-arrowed for your comments. Clearly all your point was (and on this I completely agree) that there are a whole heap of applicants with full time AND relevant experience...and that while the OP has a leg up (possibly) on KFC manager (although good management experience which is always important...), he will be a notch below those with relevant, full-time, post undergrad work. Some programs rank this application aspect more highly than others, I have seen on several websites people saying that those straight out of undergrad make up 5% of the current class. At this point, all we can do is just wait.
  6. Transcripts maybe? Seems like you are in but they realised there was an incomplete formality
  7. Are you international? Maybe they realised they're missing your financial docs needed for I-20 process
  8. I'm sorry, I can't remember where it was...think on a sight called edulix...and another one discussing film school applicants. Although reading these things is always a bad idea, I wish I hadn't! I'm sure you'll get your letter in the next few days!
  9. Please guys you're making me feel SO guilty for mentioning the link! There is NO proof it means anything!! In fact, USC probably took the whole thing offline because they can see us discussing it and trying to predict decisions we don't have yet!
  10. Am MPA applicant - I called and spoke to a lady earlier, she was really friendly and helpful. My applicant page was in the first stage til Thursday, then Friday AM went to ad com apparently and Friday PM said decision was in the mail...so when it happens it can happen very quickly! i'm sure you'll hear something soon! A lot of people have said that they've received letters of admission before their status has even updated online too, so don't worry.
  11. No, don't be, there is nothing to say it means anything...I only found out about it because some other people were discussing it on another forum, lots of people have said it isn't working and I haven't got my decision yet so could very easily be a reject. Don't worry about it at all, i'm sure you'll have the letter soon.
  12. I called today and the lady was very friendly and said fed-ex so should have it by the end of the week!
  13. i don't have it anymore but if you google camel link usc it will come up. I wouldn't worry about it though - I only found out about it because some other people were discussing it on another forum, lots of people have said it isn't working and I haven't got my decision yet so don't know what it is. I did call and apparently it's coming via fed-ex and I should have it by the end of the week though...can't wait!
  14. USC said my decision was coming via fed-ex so I should hear by the end of the week! Scary!!!
  15. Does anyone know how USC send their mail internationally? Regular post or DHL/FedEx? I know the answer is on its way and it's driving me crazy waiting (and only been 3 days!)
  16. This: https://camel2.usc.e...dCertification/ I saw it mentioned by other people and thought i'd give it a go...I don't think it should necessarily be read into though, there's no evidence for it meaning anything. I'm sorry for freaking anyone out, you guys are probably all being considered for funding which is why it's taking a little longer. I just hope I get in, funding or not!
  17. I think all masters decisions come by post...One tip i've heard is try and log into the camel link (just google it) with your usc id (not the id from your application page) and see if it will let you log in and accept/decline an offer...look at my post about 5 down from here called decision speed. I definitely wouldn't assume that its a reject from it coming by mail, I think most do.
  18. Well if your status doesn't say that a decision is in the post, means there probably isn't a decision yet - so wouldn't worry about not being able to log in. Could be they're figuring out your funding still and it's a good thing! What happened when you tried to log in?
  19. Thanks so much for the reply, I am really freaking out now! The camel link is a completely different website to the application page (all that says is that I can only get my decision by post and it's on its way). In my head i'm thinking I wouldn't be able to log in to a site to accept/decline an offer if I didn't have one but i'm scared if I get my hopes up and don't get in, it will be even more sad!
  20. I can log in to the camel link thing...is that a good sign?!
  21. Maybe I should just wait and see but as im international and the letter is coming from California I have a long wait ahead of me now! Just wondered thoughts on the following.... Until Thursday evening my application status was in the first stage (since submission on 15th Dec) saying they'll get in touch if they need anything etc.. When I checked Friday morning it had finally changed message to tell me the admissions committee were reviewing, which was a relief! But now this morning it says a decision has been made and is in the mail and I am so freaked out!! How did they decide so quickly? I thought it would be in review for weeks! I definitely didn't have an outstanding application, so i'm thinking this must mean it was an obvious reject but i'm a bit desperate as this is my first choice school.... Just wondered if anyone has had experience of a decision being made this quickly and whether it is likely to be a good or bad thing? I am also able to log in to the camel link with my USC Id and when I click accept offer MPA fall 2012 appears below...is that a good sign or can everyone?!
  22. My USC app now says... You will receive notification of your admission decision soon via postal mail. Please note that the Office of Admissions provides final decision notifications by letter only. We do not disclose admission decisions via e-mail, telephone, or any other means. Why was it only under review for a day?! That makes me nervous, it definitely wasn't good enough for a speedy accept so can only assume it was an obvious rejection
  23. Well that's pretty scary! Well done everyone!! I am in the UK and it takes ages for mail to get here from the US...hope I don't have to wait too long! As of today my application page says it's being reviewed by the admissions committee rather than being in the first stage of the application process
  24. Congrats!!! Are you based nearby? Do they post decisions for international applicants too?! Also, did your status change on the website...mine still hasn't progressed past first stage according to the site...
  25. There are two acceptances on the results survey page for public policy masters at USC...
