  1. Oh man I know how that feels! And it never got easier! I submitted my "simplest" application first and the post-submission relief-anxiety cocktail only got worse after that. And ditto on the insane fears. What if they hate Canadians? Or more likely, my wacky Canadian spelling? What if they're actually 24 hours ahead in Texas and I'm already late??
  2. Is anyone else here having trouble getting their applications to update? (Specifically their UT Austin application.) My third reference letter was submitted on Thursday and it's still showing as a required item, even though my application says it's complete. I guess if the rest of the university had their applications due on the first then then the system could just be overloaded, but I just don't want to take any chances...
  3. I deal with this by finding encouragement in meaningless places. Ex: "Oh, the UW Madison English department secretary is so friendly! She clearly wants me to go there." and "Look, the UT Austin application checklist is so well organized, how nice. This must mean I'll get in!" I'm clearly delusional, and like many of you, borderline hysterical, but what can we do? If we get in, this is only the beginning. We should have a drink of choice thread. I will put forth a nice cold wheat beer, to go with this already wine-soaked thread.
  4. I read this topic weeks ago and thought to myself "WHY AM I NOT DONE, AAAAUGH" Well, I'm done now, and keep getting anxiety flashbacks. For example: "WHY WAS MY SOP SO AWFUL??", "MY REFEREES ARE GOING TO SAY HORRIBLE THINGS ABOUT ME" and "I BET YOU I SPELLED SOMETHING ELSE WRONG." But I'm done, and I know I'm done, because I can veg out and rewatch Firefly and knit the big fluffy cowl that was MY carrot for the last few weeks. High fives to all you early finishers and best of luck to those still crawling (or racing) towards the finish line.
