  1. Happy Sunday everyone... the one day we don't have to check the mail constantly, lol.
  2. Not sure if I completely understand what you are looking for, but City College has a new program that is technology and studio art mixed. http://edm.arts.ccny.cuny.edu/diap/
  3. I think you might be right, lol! I'm sure it will all work out in the end pretty much knew my west coast schools were a long shot.
  4. Rejection from UCSD today via email. I can't seem to get any love from my dear beloved home state of California lol.
  5. That's good to know. Thanks for sharing the info! I'm going to hold out hope then until I hear otherwise.
  6. Oh okay, so I guess it might be too early to say for sure. Hopefully we will hear something soon, I really like the program there so it's pretty high on my list! Here's to hoping we still have a shot!
  7. Does anyone know if it is safe to say that not hearing from UCSD by now is a bad sign? I know some people have already been accepted so I'm starting to assume it's a no go.
  8. Sorry about that Robin! SAIC is one of the most competitive, but they don't suggest the post-bac program to everyone so you should take that as a good thing even though the rejection always stings. Good luck! I didn't apply to Columbia College, but I have a friend who did, so I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you.
  9. On a quick side note: I don't know if anyone on the board applied to Florida State (I didn't) but a friend of mine just got her acceptance letter from them, so be on the lookout.
  10. In deed! Here's to good news for everyone the rest of the day. Sorry about UCSD, though. I haven't heard anything from them yet and am pretty nervous about it. Good luck to everyone.
  11. I actually am applying to Columbia, and I really like Roma as well. I went to the past two year's open houses and I was very impressed by him both times I met him. Columbia allows you to submit applications to multiple concentrations, so I actually applied to both photo and new genres but with different portfolios.
  12. Thanks, I appreciate it. Yes, I was really hoping to stay in NY which is why I didn't apply to too many schools out of the area. Although I have to admit your description of the University of Chicago had me wishing I had considered moving to Chi-town. Meeting William Pope.L must have been awesome!
  13. Thanks everyone! Yes, I did apply for photography and I know that they get far less applications for photo than other concentrations so there might be a little more time before everyone else finds out. Good luck to everyone!
  14. It's hard to say when we will hear from these schools. I am very curious to know too. Based on what I read in previous years forums we may be hearing from NYU sometime this week, and maybe Hunter in the next week or so. Columbia seems to be pretty late with notifications from what I can tell. If we are rejected, it looks like all three schools might not notify about that until mid to late March, even early April. Anyone know for sure about this?
  15. Yeah, I am sure that plane ticket would be very expensive so Skype would be best for you. I have not actually been to the campus before, plus I am so close, so I am going to go in person for sure. Good luck with your interview!
  16. Yes! I agree with both of you. Everyone has to make their own decisions on accepting debt for school, but for me it does not make sense to amass a large amount of debt for an MFA. I am hoping to just get accepted somewhere first, but if I can get in I don't plan on going anywhere that doesn't give me a decent financial aid package.
  17. Congratulations! My interview at Bard is also with the photo department. Are you going to be coming in person or doing the Skype interview?
  18. I got an interview with Bard as well! This is a huge relief!
  19. Haha, I was about to go run to the mailbox too! Wow tey want to fly you over just to visit? They really want you at TX tech! That's really awesome.
  20. Congratulations to both of you! Both are awesome programs!!
  21. The Fafsa Deadlines depend on numerous factors, such as your state and what schools you apply to.
  22. FAFSA doesn't have a deadline per se, but it is best to fill it out as soon as possible. A few schools do have deadlines for getting financial aid info, but that is based per school. Columbia is one of the few that has a separate financial aid application, aside from filling out the FAFSA. So, that Feb 15th deadline is for that application, not just the FAFSA. Also I remember someone asking about if you should add schools to the FAFSA before they accept you, and YES you need to add all schools you are applying to to your FAFSA. Also, it only lets you add 10 at a time, so if you apply to more than 10, just submit your form with 10 then after it has been processed (usually a few days) then you can go in an edit the form to delete the other schools and add up to 10 more. The info will still be sent to the first 10 even once you erase them.
  23. I received an email from Bard once they got all my transcripts saying that they wouldn't notify anyone until around mid-February. So that February 20th date is probably pretty accurate. Good luck!
  24. Just received the same news from Stanford! Very disappointing, especially when out of 11 programs I've only heard from two and both are rejections...
