  1. Received my first acceptance yesterday and was going to treat myself to a nice evening out tonight. Instead, I woke up sick with the flu.
  2. Thanks! Turns out February has been good to me thus far. I received my first acceptance today. It is still sort of sinking in that come September, I will be starting my Masters.
  3. The second week of February seems to be one of those 'big weeks' where a bunch of acceptances and rejections are sent out to master's applicants at one of the schools I am applying to. Both excited for and dreading Monday.
  4. I've delayed taking my Gen Ed credits until now, so I've immersed myself in philosophy. Which has been good, since there is an ungodly amount of reading that keeps me busy. Also, been catching up on TV series that I have let fall by the wayside (Mad Men, etc).
  5. "There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer." From Asimov's "The Last Question". It just seems to so brilliantly sum up the process of scientific research.
  6. I was just notified that the graduate director of the programme at my alma mater is looking over my application since a "rush" was placed on it. Now if only a "rush" would be placed on my application at my first choice, haha!
  7. A bottle of 18 year old Highland Park Scotch, a box of Oliva Serie V cigars, and purchase two tickets to when Ben Heppner returns to the Canadian Opera Company in the following year.
  8. I've only recently gotten into dubstep, so trying to pass the time with a crash course in the genre. Tonne of late nights finishing up my last undergrad term, and well, stressing out about my graduate school applications, so 'Niraya - Symphony of the Night' has been playing a lot.
  9. If not computer science, then history, philosophy or political science.
  10. That happened to me. Letters were due at 8am the following morning, last LoR was finally submitted just after midnight. I spent the majority of the evening mindlessly refreshing the page, hoping to see a change.
  11. Just turned 25. Took me quite some time to truly find my field.
  12. Computer Science (Computational Biology/Bioinformatics): UofT, York, & Columbia Now I'm enjoying the torturous wait until late-March.
