Just letting letting people know that Columbia required a $400 deposit March 3rd

I am also going to Columbia and am from Long Island. I will be dorming (hopefully) I also had problems with the website

I got money from Columbia 3.3 gpa sociology, ( I am a senior in college ) No experience other than volunteering at a shelter

I got an 11,000 scholarship to columbia and a 3400 workstudy

I applied 1/5 and heard back 2/3

I know! It was more than excepted! I am so excited to make new friends at columbia!

I am thinking about doing the jts too! ahhh so excited!

they have not contacted me at all, when I tried to call they did not pick up

Okay, so I know I sound really lame but when is the right time to add what msw program we're going to? I am just so excited haha

let me know how it goes, since I am from LI it would be ok to go into Manhattan but I go to school in MA. Also do you think I should submit an email, or call on the phone?

I am wondering if I should ask for more money from Columbia, I only got 9.5k, How could I ask politely?

So I got a "Scholarship" and work study but I did not get as much as I thought I would, do you think I could ask for more of both? How would I go about that? Joshua, when you said you got 10.5 what are you talking about scholarship?

I actually go to Umass Amherst for undergrad which is considered one of the five colleges along with Smith. A few of my sociology professors went to Smith for their MSW and they loved it!

hey everyone, I hope everyone is hearing back from their desired schools with good news following! I was recently (last month) accepted into the University of Pittsburgh MSW program. On their website it stated "All eligible applicants who complete their MSW application by the priority deadline date of December 31, 2011 and have a minimum 4-year grade point average of 3.3 will receive both their admissions and scholarship award decisions by no later than February 15, 2012. After the priority deadline a limited number of scholarship awards are made." Having applied before the deadline with a 3.268 GPA I was uncertain if they would consider me having a 3.3 GPA. After hearing Jan 7 that I was accepted I could not believe how fast they got back to me! While I am happy I got accepted, I called the school today asking them if they had any information regarding a scholarship. They told me that they went through different " rounds" for scholarships and that since I did not have high enough grades I would not be considered. I am really confused but keep in mind i spoke to a secretary. I am wondering what I should do? Do I have any hope on getting some money?
