Hi All, Decided to accept an offer down south, but just found out that i'm pregnant. What are the chances they would let me defer? It is for an MFA in Creative Writing, and I think they only accepted 4 or 5 people this year. Any advice? Thanks, AH

i hear you, mspring! i called yesterday and the woman in the Creative Writing department said they were sending e-mails of all acceptances by 3pm est yesterday... well, here i am, the following morning with still no news. it is ridiculous. i don't even want to go there anymore...

STILL WAITING for Rutgers! What the heck! They were supposed to send out acceptances on March 15, then changed it to end of March, and now April 17.... April 17 is tomorrow, what are they waiting for? Surely they must know by now?? :evil:

Jufarius, The good thing about Creative Writing is that there is no cookie-cutter applicant. Most may have a background in English, but Philosophy is not such a far stretch. Take some English/Writing electives while you are at Yale to help beef up your transcript. But really, the most important thing for a CW applicant is your portfolio. Write, keep writing, and hopefully by the time you apply for your MFA, you will have some good stuff ready to send out. Good luck waa salaam, AlHayat

Yeah... all i know is that i've heard from all but my top choice. First their website stated they'd send out acceptances 15 March. Then, i e-mailed and they said "end of March." Then their website send "end of March." i just logged on again, and now it says APRIL 17!! That is crazy... Most schools require that you accept their packages by April 15 :evil:

i'm still waiting on Rutgers and Temple... i e-mailed both this week. Rutgers said they wouldn't be making a decision until the end of March, which seems pretty junky to me (their website says we should hear by 15 March). Temple didn't respond to my e-mail... :|

Just wanted to post a note of optimism: i absolutely couldn't wait anymore to hear back from the Rutgers writing program... i sen them an e-mail, and they responded that they still haven't made their decisions yet, and we should hear by the end of March. So there you have it... we're not out yet.

well, it's Saturday... still no letter. think i might send an e-mail on Monday, cuz i just can't be patient any longer. good luck to you, too!

Heard back from 1 school... waiting on 3, which had later deadlines... so maybe that is why they are taking so long? i think these next two weeks are when most schools start sending out the news (at least that is what i keep telling myself... :oops: )

hi fellow friends-in-waiting... me, too, not much news to report. i got accepted into UGA, but still haven't heard back from any other schools. me, too, getting nervous... :x
