  1. Maybe look into flexible babysitting jobs or graduate assistantships. If you're creative try teacherspayteachers.com. It's a website where you can sell (or buy) your own therapy materials/resources to other teachers/slp.
  2. I'll be working/traveling before grad school. I start in January, so I accepted a short term job working with kids living on a military base in Hawaii. On this blog entry (https://slpecho.wordpress.com/2013/05/20/slp2b-summer-reading-list/) SLPEcho compiled a summer reading list/grad school resource. I think #4 would be a great place to search for thesis topics.
  3. I'm a big fan of Passion Planners. Each day is broken down by hour, personal and work to-do lists, space to write out short and long term goals, blank space for journaling/reflections/inspirational quotes. http://www.passionplanner.com/what/
  4. Thank you!!!!I havent heard anything from them either. Someone on the results page said they sent out some acceptances a few week ago, but no one posted.
  5. After months of bad news and stress eating, I just got accepted to Valdosta!!!!
  6. I still have to hear from more schools, but it's not looking good. Valdosta also has spring admissions! I'm also going to apply to distance/online programs.
  7. I think you should hear back sometime this week.
  8. Congratulations! I went to their open house so you can PM me if you would like. They do not offer any funding now, but they might have a scholarship from a private sponsor soon.
  9. I have! It was for personal problems though and I regret it...kind of. It would have saved me from the stress I'm experiencing now, but I got to work/travel abroad for the last few years. I feel like a much stronger applicant now experience wise. I feel more confident and focused. Hopefully, one of these schools feels the same way!
  10. I go to Tampa a lot, but I'm not an expert (I live directly across from Tampa on the east coast). Its a large city so there's ALWAYS something to do. Ybor city and Channelside for nightlife. Go eat at Datz if you go down for a visit. Not too far away from Orlando, and some really nice beaches.
  11. I know the clinic is pretty nice. I'll try to get in contact with the person I know for more info.
  12. Shayy_Dee: When do you have to respond to their offer by? I'm wondering when the second round will go out.
  13. Where are you hearing this from? Just curious. I have an acquaintance in the program now, but we've never discussed it. I do know that they start clinic right away but I don't think that's exclusive to USF.
  14. 1st official rejection . Just need one acceptance though
  15. If you applied by March 1st you should know if you were accepted around April 1st. If you don't get accepted your application goes into the second round of decision along with the people who made the second deadline (May 15th). Both deadlines are for the same cohort beginning in fall. I went to their open house, so I can try to answer anymore of your questions.
  16. Have you looked into in-state tuition waivers or changing your residency for the second year? I haven't heard back form any of my schools, and it's driving me nuts
  17. I was accepted off of La Salle's waitlist (a couple years ago) in June.
  18. Looking at past results, it seems like the 2nd/3rd week of March. The results are spread out so they might come in waves. It's funny that only 1 person has posted results.
  19. 612 applications is super discouraging. I can only imagine the numbers at other schools. Anybody applying to UCF?
  20. It looks like USF started emailing people today. I knew I wouldn't get in/ I'm not sure I even wanted to go there, but mehhh.
  21. The number of applications some schools are getting is making me extremely nervous.
  22. Not yet. I think they'll start sending out decision within the next 2 weeks (FSU). I don't know anything about UF.
