surefire im taking your advice and using 12 size font. Currently chopping everything down so it fits on two pages

12 size font and DOUBLE SPACED??? i would have to cut out 3/4 of it!! lol... this school is asking me to describe my research and experience..as well as why im applying to their school I think one of my applications does say 750 words so i'll probably take out one of my research projects since it is in my resume

yeah i'll be uploading it as a pdf....does it need to have a title before my intro paragraph?

i feel like its too long. Its 2 pages plus 6 lines on the third page... and I haven't written a title yet (wait..do i have to have a title?). Its a word document and im uploading it into my online application. I am having a MISERABLE time trying to cut it down to ~1000. First 6 lines- why i like chemical engineering Next 12 lines- Research project 1 Next 11 lines- Relevant Research project 2 Next 10 lines- 2 courses that are VERY relevant to my proposed research area Next 9 lines- Relevant Laboratory Project Next 10 lines - experience in industry Next 22 lines - Why i like the program and how it will help me with my goals Last 8 lines- My future and long term aspirations basically i cant figure out which of these paragraphs needs to be omitted.. and its a size 11 font...if i make the font 12 it will look even longer and im afraid they;ll toss my application in the trash... what should i do?

long answer? lol I just want them to read through it (if they feel like it) to get to know me a lot more..

They all know me fairly well but just so they really understand my future goals and reasons for applying to grad school?

plus your major GPA(which is a lot more important) is SUPER high...i dont know what you are worried about

for UT austin they list on their site that the cutoff for chem E is 3.5. ....I think you have nothing to worry about. It is REALLY difficult to say which factors are the most important...i really believe the schools when they say its a holistic process...and they look at the whole application...just apply to the schools you want to go to and make sure to pick some lower ranked schools...

hey I dont wanna give irrelevant info but for chem Engr, the averages for admitted students were 771(~161) and 590(~159). doubt the average for aerospace is significantly higher...You GRE scores are CLEARLY not bad..

Hey I'm also working on mine... my 0.02 cents...seems to me your only problem is length and a few wordy sentences..other than that i really enjoyed reading..you're an excellent writer....it was very personal and interesting..except for the first 10 or so sentences. you could probably omit most of the first paragragh. it kind of looks like how you would start a gre analytical writing essay about technology...if you know what i mean and talks about technology in general instead of focusing on yourself. I would love to hear what others think though

Hahaha...i see what you mean.I'll give them a call tomorrow and try to get a sense of whether i even have a shot based on how they react to my low GRE verbal and low GPA..

Is it worth a shot or should i not bother at all due to me crappy gpa?

ugh....yeah I saw the application deadline but then I went to the FAQ and it says the "the deadline for international students is January 1st"..then i started my application on apply texas and saw the July 1st deadline so i figured the january 1st was for international and july 1st for domestic. I'm retarded for not calling...I dont even need aid...I just want to go to the school..I'll wait and see what they say..

I called them and was given an email. I emailed and I'm now waiting. I would be so pissed if they dont consider my application..ugh

they have the WRONG deadline listed on the online application...It says July 1st on the online application...But i just looked at Frequently asked questions link(which is not very easy to find, byt the way) on the chemical engineering graduate website and it said the deadline is January 1st. WTFF.??...
