Good luck with the final decision!

Goodluck, not to be a jerk, but independent research is part of the process of graduate school. Its Georgetown, the simple "eye-test" should suffice to suggest that its competitive.

Oregon rejection? Anyone want to claim? I just checked my status, no change...which is total f-ing par so far this cycle. Also, if the Oregon applicant is around, care to share field.

You can only go to one school! Hang in there. Didn't you apply to 21 schools (I think I remember seeing that somewhere)?

This is when you know youre crazy! I had a dream that Robert Art called me about being accepted to Brandeis...

Congrats Balderdash!

You pay the application fee and put time into the application you deserve to receive a decision! I'm waiting on the types of schools you describe but I'll be more than happy to come off a waitlist in March if it comes down to that. Whats next, pleas for people whohave secured admissions at at 50ish school to withdraw from a 70ish school. Also, remember, people may be limited by location (sucks, but it can play a factor-it does for me in a small way) also, as we have seen, not every great school has great funding. Some of the mid-tier actually fund quite well and may be helpful for some to negotiate better packages. But I still stand by the thought that you put the time and effort into each application, get a result and then make a decision!

So you're the Umass admit! Congrats! Jesus, I'm still waiting on them to make a decision on my application.

I won't go to any school where the basketball benches are on the endlines and below the surface of the floor, also i was rejected.

Thanks for the post.

I feel like I'm on waitlist island and will get my only acceptance on April 14th. As for work, I only wish mine was school work...You can't scoff at a UT acceptance, great town, great school, and you'll have a great time if that where you end up!

Its very interesting to see people wrapping up this cycle, I have literally heard from one of the 8 schools I applied to. This is supremely frustrating. I know a couple are in a similar situation, anyone else out there in this situation and has the excitement of phd applications waned. I know four of the eight have not made final decisions so its just very difficult to get to up or down about anything. I have too much f-ing work to do and can not focus!

As Arlo Guthrie sings in Alice's Restaurant, "Kill, kill, kill!"

Thank you. A bit of a reach for me I think, but you never know...I'm guessing Brown is probably out for you given the other schools you were admitted too, so maybe there is hope yet!

Did anyone actually get accepted to Brown? I saw the waitlisters but have seen no other activity...

Updating CV mid-application season- is there a protocol?
Ironheel!! replied to Ironheel!!'s topic in Political Science Forum
Thanks for the input everyone. I went ahead and sent the updated version out, I know that 2 of the schools I applied (brandeis and Temple) are meeting next week(s) (emailed confirmation from DGS if anyone is also waiting on those schools), and other schools such as Umass and Uconn I have heard zippo from despite the Umass rejections. If im waitlisted, maybe they'll look favorably on it. Who the hell knows at this point! -
I like Taft. He scored an incredible 27 on the 18th hole at Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbour, Maine. There is a plaque on the tee-box to commemorate his terrible play.

Cool. I had a seminar in Terrorism/counter last year (had never done much in the subject) and was facinated and scared out of my mind each week! I ended up doing my seminar paper on US State Department policy on State sponsor surrounding the split of Sudan. Really interesting growing field, good luck!!
