  1. Mabye this is also of interest for you: The Center for Comparative and International Studies (CIS) at ETH Zurich is looking for a Ph.D. student (100%) International Environmental Politics http://www.nccr-democracy.uzh.ch/document-store/vacancies/Koubi_Bernauer.pdf
  2. Freie Berlin has definitely the better reputation in Europe (for some reason people think that Heidelberg is a prestigious school but I do not know anyone who would really like to pursue a PhD there... with the exception of PE people). Depending on your interests, I would also consider Konstanz as well as the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
  3. +1 Do you realize that you have to hire new staff for next application season to handle the extra 100 applications you’ll receive due to your great posts?!
  4. I'm 99% sure I read a post about a March 25ish deadline (and that person also mentioned that funding information will not be available until that point). Unfortunately, I cannot find the post and thus I also don't know if it was about USC. Sorry if this doesn't help you much!
  5. I wanted to post it there but I thought that since it is not really from a faculty member it might be the wrong thread
  6. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this link but I thought it may be very helpful for future applicants I think it is of great value for Political Science students even though it is from a Sociology ad comm member
  7. There is no such thing as a safety!
  8. You should have a look at this thread:
  9. and then everyone gets the kitten treatment
  10. Congrats to the new admit(s)!
  11. Oh come on! You just destroyed my spam folder theory!!
  12. Congrats to SAIS!! I think Harvard sends out rejections by snail mail... so it could take a while until you get it. I would call or email them. But I'm pretty sure your, Setgree's and my acceptance email went to the spam folder and this is why we didn't get it so far
  13. Oh, you just made my day!! Although this hat looks like it could need some hot chilli sauce . I also want to congratulate everyone on their acceptances. If you didn't get one you shouldn't give up! You have a year to become the best version of yourself and to be competitive when you apply next year! I'd also like to ask people who are still around to post their profiles. This thread helped me tremendously when I reapplied as I got a clearer picture of what I should do to become more competitive! I loved the spirit on this forum this cycle! You're guys are great!
  14. Your subfield is American and you got into PEG??!?

  16. I suggest that we turn this into a profile thread PROFILE: Type of Undergrad Institution: Major(s)/Minor(s): Undergrad GPA: Type of Grad: Grad GPA: GRE: Any Special Courses: Letters of Recommendation: Research Experience: Teaching Experience: Subfield/Research Interests: Other: RESULTS: Acceptances($$ or no $$): Waitlists: Rejections: Pending: Going to: My Advice (primarily on writing an SOP):
  17. Yeah, I am absolutely happy about my offers! I'm very grateful that I got accepted by such amazing schools. People keep telling me bad things about PEG, so I’m not sure whether I would accept it if I got off the wait list.
  18. I can't wait to see this pic! Will we see it tonight or do we have to wait until tomorrow? I also contacted my Harvard POI (I wanted to thank him for the advice he gave me during this application cycle). His reply was quite cryptic. He said that I’m on the wait list (as far as I know this is only true for PEG) and that my other offers are very good. It’s very nice that he replied given that he must be really busy. But it’s still not very clear to me whether they’re done or not. But I strongly believe that acceptances are out.
  19. After receiving acceptances from Harvard and Yale you're probably not too disappointed
