Hi All, I received an email note Friday night from UCSD stating that I was in. The faculty member said that funding was still up in the air, however. Still, I'm excited. Here's to the next step! -

That could very well be. When I interviewed a couple of weeks ago at UCSD, I was told they'd be interviewing for the next few weeks, and that decisions would be going out shortly after that. I suppose (taking them at their word) that would place UCSD's admissions notifications at early to mid-March, but I can't say for sure. -
I'm in a similar boat as many of you above. I am working in a great paying job with great benefits in a field that, while interesting, is not what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. I just had my interview yesterday, and if I get in, I will almost certainly take it, but I'm not super happy at the prospect of not having the money that I currently make. I realize I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, and all I can do is wait and see whether I get in and what (if any) the offer is. Still, it's a tough choice.

BreathingSister, Have you heard anything out of UCI? I thought about applying there too, and I may next year if I don't get into the UCSD side. -

If it is helpful to anyone, I applied to the UCSD end of the joint doctoral program with UCI. I was contacted last week to come in this coming Thursday for an interview. We shall see what happens.
