  1. This thread is so informative ! Thanks all for the incredibly useful insights.
  2. Thanks Madrilena25. Congratulations to you too ! Too early to make a decision, though. They're supposed to notify about the outcome of World Bank fellowship in early April. I'll wait till then, I guess. Needless to say, it's hard comparing among the programs I've been accepted to. I need to do some intense due diligence.
  3. Accepted for MPA ! Once again without funding, though.
  4. For me it does not matter anymore. The wait has kind of made me numb now.
  5. I called the office of admissions today, an administrative assistant answered who was herself a student there. Decisions are expected to keep rolling till Friday next week. On a brighter note, she was herself notified in April, and awarded a fellowship as well
  6. You have the answer to your question now, it seems. Is it the same applyyourself home page? Where does the decision appear? Congratulations anyways ! (for being able to make a decision )
  7. Congratulations ! Finally they've got the machinery moving, it seems. Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.
  8. So I guess the entire "Energy and Environment" concentrations are pending decisions. Quite a few here (including me) have applied for energy concentration.
  9. Thanks a lot TypeA for the helpful information. I do not think prospective students could have applied for Ford GSI students. The best bet is to look in one's undergrad subject departments.
  10. Could you tell me a bit about the GSI applications? Since you're already there, how many current MPP students are working as GSI's? Also, does being a GSI mean full tuition assistance?
  11. You do have quite a stellar profile, apart from the obvious. Good luck with what you plan to do next.
  12. No news today either. Think I should get back to work now.
  13. Yikes ! I guess they might be hoping in that case, on how to poach students even at the last moment . Inter-departmental rivalry at play, it seems.
  14. That could be possibly because you applied to a different program. Mine is a regular MPP, whereas you've been accepted for a dual degree program. Good luck, nevertheless.
  15. I received an email (I think for the 3rd time) about the MA program in Climate and Society at Columbia, though I'm yet awaiting a decision from SIPA on the MPA. Is there any rationale behind spamming current year applicants? Or does it simply mean that I've been rejected at SIPA?
  16. Did anyone receive any notification about the funding status? I received an email from Rakham listing the documents required to secure admission, yet no mention of funding / no funding.
  17. I suppose so. 20 L is actually the upper limit. Many banks have set the ceiling even lower. Here is a link you might find useful : http://www.hindustanlink.com/careertex/educational-loans-india.htm
  18. On the same boat folks. Which banks are you planning to approach? They all seem to charge ridiculously high rates!
  19. Thanks flux000. I was thinking along similar lines. Work ex, LOR's etc. are subjective parameters though, so there's of course no certainty. GPA being irreparable, I'm counting on my pending applications... just in case an offer comes through. What's your decision on Harris, btw?
  20. True that. I couldn't get funding in the schools I've been accepted to either. Waiting for more. Btw, do you think applying next fall with better GRE (currently 164Q, 157V) and some more work ex (I already have ~4) could bolster my chances of being funded?
  21. bumping this thread for it's new found relevance I've been offered admission at UChicago Harris, with no $. I'd very much like to attend the program, just cannot figure out how. Opinions, experiences, ideas etc. from former / current / future students would be very much appreciated.
  22. Accepted to two top MPP programs so far. No news in funding though. GPA weighs a lot on funding decisions.
