I have been looking at Craigslist for housing. There seem to be tons of rooms available within a 20-minute walking vicinity of campus. They are all quite reasonable -- within the $400-$700 a month range.

I graduated with a B.A. from Kwantlen last year. Currently working full time at a law firm and studying my LL.B. part-time through the University of London. Will start M.A. studies at UVic in September and keeping poking away at the LL.B. -
Congratulations to all accepted to UVic for September. Hope to see you around campus.

Waitlisted by UBC today. I have already accepted UVic's offer -- that was my first choice from the beginning, although Queen's was tempting and their offer was generous. I am into theory, mostly Rawls and liberalism. -
Waitlisted by UBC.

Accepted by UVic yesterday via e-mail. Likely that this is the offer I'll wind up taking. I will finalize my decision by the weekend.

Accepted by Queen's via e-mail today.

Rejected from Western today.

I completed agree with the sentiment here re: statement. I have no expectation of getting accepted at UBC because of the limited scope of their applications. -
I only applied to two American M.A. programs. Today I was accepted by ASU. No mention of any funding.

I was accepted into an M.A. program in Political Science last week -- still waiting to hear from a bunch of other programs.

Just saw this. Very cool. I'm doing my LL.B. right now through the University of London's international programs. So in September I will also be a grad/law student. With the job market being what it is, arming yourself with both an M.A. and a law degree is really an advantage, I suspect. It also opens up a lot more opportunities for doctoral programs.

I was e-mailed the offer (included two-semesters TAship). Haven't even checked the website.

Acceptance via e-mail from SFU today.

Ever notice how loathe political scientists/political scientist-wannabes are to talk about politics? -
Plan B? There are several tall bridges near my home...

I have applied to 11 programs in total, 9 of which are Canadian. Fingers crossed for UVic. I've applied for Political Science M.A. programs, and my area is political theory.

It seems to me worthwhile opening up a thread for this. Take a word, drop a word.

I'm in the same boat. If this year doesn't work out, there is always next year. I have learned a hard lesson: apply everywhere. -

Hi Jeff. Thanks for the update. I am indeed waiting on MA political theory at UVic. As I mentioned above, the grad secretary today informed me over the phone that the committee is meeting sometime soon for another round of decisions. So, I guess there is indeed hope. Cheers. (Are you accepting, btw?)
