  1. There are barely any fellowships/scholarships for middle class Caucasian men in science, unless they're military vet, disable or gay. =.=

      I am not a white male, but I thought it was wrong to discriminate a group of people solely on their race and gender. I know some of my colleagues' parents pretty much living paycheck by paycheck and yet still be considered as "middle class" before the amount of money they are making is above the poverty line.

      I'm a white male, first generation student and you pretty much have described my life lol. Parents live paycheck to paycheck, not an extravagant life style. I pretty much say these words more than once a year when trying to find funding for collge "Why did we have to be white?"...because its true there are opportunities specifically for white males. Anywho, yay for higher education and the sciences!

      FYI, if you have a Masters, you're ineligible for most of the funding sources that have been listed here since you've got right at or more than 2 years graduate experience. There aren't a ton of funding opportunities for rural, Caucasian females, either... and especially not the ones that have a MS. However, I've noticed a couple of local fellowships that don't ask for race or gender, which is awesome. I understand why some fellowships are specific, but it is cool to have...
