Sorry about the delay!
The Open House was a good opportunity to meet the students and faculty. There were a lot of current students around to talk to during the whole day, and the faculty came in the morning and told us about their roles in the program (and some had lunch with us). The faculty definitely emphasized that they admitted people that they thought would be successful in the program. It seemed like they were really close and comfortable with the students, which was one of my concerns because it is a one-year program. The students who were there talked to us about how much they liked the cohort model, their internships, their courses, how they found housing, and what they hope to do after completing the program. They told us that like, only one person has not completed the program...basically that the school and faculty work really hard to make sure you have enough support to finish. And they also said that the latest anyone has found a job after graduation is November, which seems pretty impressive. You could definitely tell that the students were confident in the program, and many were very well-spoken about how their experiences will prepare them for a career in student affairs.
Sorry for the long winded reply! Those were my general impressions. If you would like to know more, I would be happy to PM!
