  1. Omg. Wishing us all the luck!!
  2. Has anyone heard from York? I thought they would alert on the 31st but crickets.
  3. Hi everyone, I welcome feedback. This is my second year applying for my two-year program. I was waitlisted last year and I am waitlisted this year. This program is my second terminal degree. I have a book coming out. I have many other peer reviewed scholarships, a record of success acquiring grants and presenting at national conferences, and am multidisciplinary. I have taught at and been interviewed with some of the most major institutions in North America for tenure track. I literally had a zoom interview with a major Canadian institution for tenure-track position the same morning that I saw I was waitlisted again. I have an A+ GPA. I have stellar letters of recommendation. I have extensive work both in the field and in scholarship. I hope I don’t offend anyone if I write WTF? I imagine many of us are feeling similarly. I’m really grateful for my program (I actually love my program; it’s the best thing to have ever happened to me professionally ever) and all the funding that I do have, but I cannot help but feel extremely frustrated that over a decade of work is not enough to get me this scholarship, while at the same time I am an active contender for some of the most major institutions in North America. I really hope that I get off the waitlist or get the OGS. It has been in an enormous financial risk to return to school for this program, and I have a family with disabilities to support. I could go on. I will share that the people in my cohort are also incredibly talented and accomplished, which I’m sure represent many other people in my field going for the scholarship. That being said, even my graduate program director told one of my colleagues that she was confident I would get it this year. I am just mind blown. I apologize for complaining. That is not my nature. All will be well. I do feel hurt but I’ll just conclude by sharing that I know somebody who never got any major grant, but got a tenure-track contract months before graduating, at her ideal institution. So there is hope. And I would frankly prefer that. Thank you for a safe place for working this out. I hope to update with better news in the next few weeks and same for all of you. I’m really truly hoping that at the very least I do get the OGS. Best wishes to you all.
  4. Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help. I just tried filling out my TurboTax and the program asked if I had an international bank and funding over $10,000. I said yes that I had a bank in Canada but I was unsure what to write in regards to the question about 10 K. I have a combination of scholarships and grants and loans, and I wasn’t sure if educational funding was considered finances or was exempted. In other words, do I write yes or no in regards the question about 10 K if I had over 10 K in 2021 but it was all from student government and provincial funding? I hope I was clear and thank you. If you have any additional advice, it is welcome.
  5. Thank you for starting this thread! I was waitlisted last year and fingers crossed moving forward!
  6. Hi everyone, I did not get off of waitlist and am re-applying. I have two questions I imagine are relevant to many of us here: 1)Do you list 2020 CGM/OSG alternate on your CV? Does that hold any weight or prestige even if you didn't get off of the list? and 2) Has anyone heard of any movement and what are the prospects of getting moved off of the list next term?
  7. Hi everyone, is it possible that some schools don't have an OGS page? I've tried googling but can't find it. My communications are from the awards director at my institution which is York. I'm resigned to staying on the waitlist but would still like the option to moniter it if a page exists. Thanks, good luck to those waiting, and congrats to those received!
  8. Feeling a lot of these posts! I'm waitlisted both for OGS and SSHRC CGM at York. I've been informed that waitlist rankings do not get released. Has anyone heard any whispers or have a sense of movement on either of these lists? Congrats to those who have won the awards and best wishes to all of us still waiting!
  9. I'm new to this but I would recommend reaching out. I got rejected and am still on the SSHRC waitlist and am holding on to hope! Best of luck to you. Could it be a good sign that you are high on the waitlist for OGS?
  10. Amazing! I wonder how that impacts OSAP since one applies in June typically, right? I'm at York and have heard that they typically release OGS results in late May. Fingers crossed for all of us!
  11. i will be so thrilled for both of us when we get either the CGM or OGS! here's a cool anecdote however: i know someone who did not get off the waitlist for either but got a dream position right out of the gate as ABD. one way or another it will work out! best wishes.
  12. Hi everyone; just swinging back to check in. Any updates? Best wishes to all.
  13. Also just checking in. Any updates or whispers on updates? What about OSG? Thanks! and best of luck as always.
