Everyone: can you please help a Canadian who studied in the US and is new to Canadian grants? I know that I am waitlisted for SSHRC CGM but I also applied for the OGS and was not notified about this status. Where do you learn about OGS? Is it through the Research Portal or elsewhere? I can not find this information anywhere and my department is not responding to any of my funding queries and it is becoming rather frustrating. Hi all. I'm thinking of accepting an offer in Toronto (York). I would be moving with my family of four and we are thinking of either family housing or a 3 bedroom (no basement.) What is a livable grad student income level to aim for in Toronto? This will be an international relocation.

Does anyone happen to have news or thoughts on the York SSHRC Master's alternate process? Congrats to everyone who has received and accepted an offer and thanks for any insight.

I have heard of people with double PhDs, as well as MFAs and MAs, and actually did know someone with a double MFA; I think you should apply and center your focus on how you want to apply the MFA practically. Best of luck!

Hello all. I'm new to the Canada grant system. Can anyone help unpack some of the terminology and expectations from here? I received a notice that I'm alternate for SSHRC-Masters but don't know what to read into this. I also applied for the Ontario tri-council grant (OGS?) but can not remember if it is a different research portal and am unclear on the OGS status, such as if it's been released yet and where the results are released, if it is not connected to SSHRC. My questions are, when does one typically learn if they move off the waitlist and/or OGS? Also, if one is not funded, but wants to attend, what is the next step? Is it contacting the bursar, the university scholarship and grant coordinator, or the grad school? I've already reached out to my department administrative assistant for direction and clarity and am waiting for their response. Best wishes to everyone and thank you.
