  1. I did refer to it but there are reports of people interviewing still with the DCT. If all offers were out, wouldn't they have ceased all interviews?
  2. For psychological science, but not for clinical. There are people still interviewing with the DCT.
  3. Cry in the shower. But after a few months of that, I'll retake my GRE and apply for more research positions. I may also look for a counselling job.
  4. So I may just be really tired, but I don't understand this. What if all of Ryerson's 13 clinical offers were accepted? Then wouldn't the total between both Psych. Science and Clinical exceed 15? And what about those off the wait list? If 5 applicants declined, then wouldn't 5 other applicants take their place? Edit: Nevermind. I got it. Didn't see the positions list. Haha
  5. I'd like to echo that statement. There are many people in Clinical/Counselling programs over the age of 30, and even 40 starting their degrees (both at the Master's and PhD levels). Don't fret about your age. Just worry about what you can control, which is how great your application is!
  6. Not a problem. Thanks for sharing your offer letter, because it does give some sort of solid number as to how many applicants they're willing to accept for Clinical. Also, congrats on all the acceptances! What a happy decision to make
  7. Psychological Science students always receive interview and acceptance offers well before Clinical students. A lot of clinical applicants interviewed after many Psych. Science students received their offers (me included), so the timelines are definitely different for both disciplines. Clinical students are starting to hear back now regarding their application status. It would appear that there have been a number of spots available for Clinical, but there wasn't a clear decision on which faculty member receives a clinical spot hence why the delay in us hearing.
  8. Can the person who was accepted into Ryerson for Clinical Psychology PM me? I just had a question!
  9. Congratulations to the Ryerson acceptance! Oh God, Ottawa is starting to make some noise! Now I'm even more nervous!
  10. Perspective is everything.

  11. It would help if you indicated what program you applied to
  12. Can the person who received an interview with the DCT at Ryerson PM me? I had a question to ask!
  13. Thanks for that info. I hope for better results for both of us this year
  14. Day 31781363 of waiting.

  15. Thanks for the information! I'm actually really surprised someone has already been accepted into Dalhousie! Great news! Clinical, I'm assuming?
  16. Oh, I see. So the meeting is to decide who gets a student and who doesn't then?
  17. Are you sure? Because multiple faculty members said recommendations go in some time this week...
  18. Oh, wow! Thanks for the info I did apply directly last year and I found out around April that I was unsuccessful. So I suppose if you get something from SSHRC in the mail in February it's good news?
  19. My experience was with the OISE MA program in Counselling/Clinical Psychology. As that professor is not a faculty in the Counselling/Clinical Psychology department, than your statement completely makes sense. Different rules for different programs I guess!
  20. I received an interview request late Sunday night as well (11:30PM). Last year I received a request after midnight.
  21. How do I distract myself while waiting anxiously to see if I got in? Cry, eat food, Netflix. Repeat.

      I play bejeweled....

  22. My friend called today and they said it was a bulk e-mail and that unofficial transcripts are accepted. So those of you worrying, stop! No need to send in official transcripts. Is this new? Because I was accepted into the MA program in Counselling Psychology (now Clinical and Counselling Psychology) and I didn't have an interview. In fact, no one in my cohort or the cohorts after did. Generally, they tend to call applicants who are already admitted to ensure they are suited for the program. It may come off as an interview, but the truth of the matter is you're already accepted.
  23. I think it's a good e-mail, but I would leave out "(hopefully good)" as you come off a bit desperate. We all are obviously, but it's good to leave personal wishes out of e-mails. Also, I would change "please tell me" to "please let me know". And yes, I would tell him that although you would value receiving funding from the university, you can also make alternative arrangements to receive financial support from your country. Good luck! I'd say you have a stellar shot
  24. A friend of mine also received an e-mail asking for documents. I applied to the PhD at York and they had my transcripts on file from last year's application season.
