  1. Managed to login and see the title of my application. Can't go further! Argh!
  2. Congratulations! Glad to know one of "our own" received it! Enjoy your funding!
  3. Still not working! That's great, congratulations! Will you be applying next year?
  4. Dal - Where did you rank? It seems as if your scoring was high.
  5. I just got an e-mail. Still can't access the site
  6. I'm trying to log on but it seems extremely clogged. Did everyone receive an e-mail indicating results were up?
  7. Good luck to everyone who's applied!
  8. Thank you for the link. 1600 applications? That seems so excessive for the CIHR DRA. Well, I'm screwed. No way am I beating out 1420 applicants for the award!
  9. To anyone who knows (or Mike specifically haha), how many students are awarded the CIHR DRA each year? I'm trying to figure out how many apply as well.
  10. Ah, I know! I keep assuming I won't be receiving the grant so my hopes aren't raised. But a part of me is still hoping that I will. I'm hoping that receiving a Master's level SSHRC would help me in some way, buy I'm not counting on it.
  11. Well, thanks for sending out an e-mail. I guess we'll just have to sit tight!
  12. Vanier results are already out? Hm, that's odd. Why so early?
  13. Definitely a relief for sure. Undergraduate degree in Psychology isn't useless though! There are plenty of research positions and psychometrist positions available needing those qualifications Actually, our Ph.D program is set up like a Clinical Psychology program. We have one practicum, and one internship (second and fourth year respectively). Thus, they build our program so that we can eventually register as both clinical and counselling psychologists. There is talk the program may be renamed to Counselling/Clinical Psychology but that may not be for a few years. However, you'd have to apply for a Clinical Ph.D degree from MA if you'd like to receive that degree. I do plan on applying to several clinical psychology programs for Ph.D. Some require a completion of their MA degrees, some don't. If you apply to Ottawa (like I will be), they have a 5 year program that includes an MA AND Ph.D in Clinical Psychology.
  14. Really nice of you, but I'm fairly average! I hope you make it in! You can always try switching from MEd to MA if you do want to eventually want to be in the MA program. It's a process, but definitely worth a try! As for the PhD program, I will be applying for Fall 2013. However, I'm also applying next year for other university programs (Ryerson, York, Guelph, McGill, and Ottawa) in addition to OISE. Important to keep your options open
  15. I'm not too sure. But I definitely know it's not unheard of! If this helps anyone, I was admitted to the MA program in July. I was rejected outright from OISE (I wasn't even offered MEd like other MA rejections), but I received a call in July with an offer of admission. So there is still some hope
  16. No. If you are on the waitlist, you should generally receive an e-mail and/or snail mail. Generally speaking, it is expected that all selected MA Candidates are contacted via phone call, e-mail, and letter (registered mail). With that being said, I don't mean to imply that every single MA will be called, but it is generally the case. The admissions office is correct in their statement, but I have yet to meet an MA who was not called prior to receiving their acceptance letter (as this was my experience as well). Again, there could always be exceptions.
  17. Usually all the MA's in OISE Counselling Psychology are contacted via phone call. If you haven't received a call by now, you weren't accepted. Sorry guys. And your online status never changes. Mine is still under review from 2 years ago.
  18. I am an MA student at the University of Toronto (OISE), and when I had received a SSHRC, I was expected to pay my tuition via my SSHRC grant. In addition, the third installment of my SSHRC grant went directly to the university itself (you'll need to file for a refund if you pay your tuition before the third installment). OISE did give me a top up award of $2000 for receiving SSHRC. Thus, it appears that SSHRC may be assumed to cover part of your tuition fees. I would still double check with the university but from my experience in psychology, it's always expected your tuition comes out of whatever grant you've been awarded (OGS, CIHR, SSHRC, etc...).
  19. Thanks for the information Degelman! I'm extemely nervous, hopefully we both get it
  20. I have also applied for CIHR DRA this year. As far as I saw on their website, the "tentative" announcement is April 16, 2012. A friend of mine applied for the CIHR Master's Award last year and had received her rejection in January. I was wondering if the doctoral award also sent out early rejections or was it all announced on one day? Very nervous! Hopefully you get the award! I'm also from UofT and it's quite nerve-wracking waiting for the decision!
