Maybe there are people who are very good candidates that they received the award, and some others that are so NOT good candidates so they defintely got rejected. Maybe we still in the middle ? they're hesitating about us lol

hahahaha you made me laugh ! don't be impressed !!! it depends on the field and the quality of the research itself !!! I'm simply disappointed cuz they're reducing the funds this year !!! Hard luck dude ! I told you the selection criteria doesn't lean on the number of publications ! ;-) So only the reviewers know who's better than the other ;-)

Concordia University ... I have no hope for Vanier !!! Am starting to lose hope for NSERC as well :-)

Could happen !!! I am a candidate for Vanier as well, but I know I wouldn't stand infront of such active candidates who are much more involved in community relevant works !

And yes, I think there was at least one guy from this forum who got NSERC CGS !

yep I guess they're waiting for the budget to be fixed !!! but still, I wonder how some people already got their letters, it feels that good applicants had the priority !!!

J'ai un journal, 4 conferences , et un chapitre dans un livre, mais j'ai fait ma maitrise apres mon bac. De toute facon, les publications ne sont pas les seuls criteres. Tu peux regarder le systeme d'evaluation, c'est mentionne sur le site de CRSNG. Critères de sélection Les demandes de BESC et de bourses ES sont évaluées et sélectionnées en fonction des critères suivants : Excellence universitaire Dossier universitaire du candidat Bourses et autres appuis détenus Durée des études antérieures du candidat Aptitude ou potentiel en recherche Qualité des contributions à la recherche et développement Pertinence de l’expérience de travail et de la formation universitaire du candidat dans le domaine de recherche proposé Importance, faisabilité et mérite de la recherche proposée, et justification du lieu de validité Sens critique Capacité d’utiliser les compétences et d’appliquer les connaissances Jugement Originalité Initiative et autonomie Enthousiasme pour la recherche Détermination et capacité de terminer des projets dans des d élais raisonnables Aptitudes à la communication et au leadership et entregent Capacité ou potentiel de communiquer des concepts scientifiques de manière claire et logique sous forme écrite ou orale; cela peut notamment comprendre : la qualité de présentation de la demande; la participation à la rédaction de publications; les prix obtenus pour des présentations orales ou des articles. Yeah, this ain't a prob dude, am just wondering why NSERC doesn't display the results on our secured sessions !!! They still can display the results gradually. Electronic signature is recognized in Canada !!! Isn't it ? So why using the old way fashion !!! Maybe they'd love to let the winners have a physical evidence of their award ? :-)

This is the era of Internet , and NSERC is still using ordinary mails !!! :-) Are we really encouraging tech developement ?

Which award ? Could you list your publications ? People started getting letters in Ottawa yesterday, so Montreal still have a chance tomorrow, as people in Ottawa received letters today as well

I do not drink alcoholic drinks anymore :-) If 50% of Mcgill NSERC quota received the scholarship last year, it doesn't mean it will be the case for this year, and it also doesn't mean that you won't be from the 50% that didn't get the scholarship. Anyway good luck dude !

It's a legitimate inquery ! didn't say we must flood their inboxes with our emails. You're giving the wrong example !!! When we talk about rights and duties, we talk about laws and not morals ;-) I can't understand why some people got the privilege to receive their letters first :-/

They get paid to do that, don't you think so ? Everytime I mail a faculty member, they reply kindly. It's their job !!!
