None of my committees are counting eggs until... You know. -
Vegan pizza with tofu, tomatoes, chickpeas, and spinach. +1 for the acceptance letter

You, teethwax, are wonderful. Thank you. -

I honestly cannot believe I haven't had that same dream. -

It's funny too because the text of the Cornell email is basically, "EVERYONE CALM DOWN." -

I thought it was really nice. In part because I have trained myself to not expect ANYTHING until Feb 1 at the earliest (God help me on Feb 1 though) and also because that's one fewer school for which I have to double check completeness. -
This. 100% this.

This is pretty much exactly why I haven't submitted my last one yet. (And may NEVER submit it so I can just live in Not Done Land forever instead.) -
Program Specific Questions - Fall 2013
practical cat replied to bfat's topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
Last I checked, not marked as complete. I was planning on not worrying about it too much. -

Your Scholar or Theorist Mt. Rushmore

I considered that. Too many movies, not enough books. (I really am more into lit than it sometimes appears.) -

Oh shit, better change fields. -
Your Scholar or Theorist Mt. Rushmore

Suicide is one of the things that I'm not much sure how to even approach academically. (That and eating disorders. I really want to teach an eventual class on celebrity memoirs and Portia de Rossi's is so relevant to my interests but how?) I also have a DFW tattoo so this is relevant to my personal interests too. -
Your Scholar or Theorist Mt. Rushmore

No. I tend to blur the distinctions between the two (I mean, duh, I listed a ton of poststructuralists, I don't like categories) but I have more fun with fiction. I produce better work with theory but bygones. -
"I also tend to be cagey about gender on the internet because I like seeing how people engage with me based solely on my performance. Which isn't to say that I'm "pretending" online, just that I think the anonymity makes discussion easier and less "boyz are stupid" and "girls are such sluts" than often happens on your average forum or even comment thread." This warms my heart. Thanks for being around tonight, dazedandbemused.

I have been lurking around here for about three years now, (Maybe the last time this came up?)

And that's fine if I'm identified as such but I don't have any stake in that being true. As I have said, I am usually quite careful to remain fairly neutral in presentation but not here. The only reason I even asked you, donthate, is I wondered if I had actually indicated anywhere. (I totally may have and even probably did in this thread!!) I'm being cagey now because, honestly, because I can. I have a particular love of that poem. She's hilarious in general but that one is special to me.

I love this question. It is so difficult. Like above, do I go with my origins or the people that best inform me today? Tough stuff. Michel Foucault Judith Butler Gayatri Spivak Derrida -
"Oh? If you want to take a stab at my gender (or not, as this is all pretty superfluous), shoot! I'll tell you if you're correct or not. I'm kinda curious, actually." Nah. I like your kind of gender-irrelevant identity here. (Which is why I may have filed a comment away actually. I am just as guilty of wanting to know, I guess?)
