  1. I haven't received anything. Panic mode: ON.
  2. Go to the applyyourself website, and check your acceptance letter. It should have an addendum with the information. Let us know how you did.
  3. Got $15000 Fellowship ! Won't use it though...
  4. They've been notifying for PhD since a while back http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=harvard+public+policy&t=a&o=&pp=250
  5. I'll just try to get myself together, not let it hurt my self-esteem, and celebrate the fact that I can confirm my enrollment to Goldman, thus ending a cycle and vortex of uncertainty I've had since a few years ago.
  6. My original thought was similar to that when Tom-MPP mentioned that decisions have already been made. I actually mentioned the epistemological approaches to be more scientific, but what floats in my mind is the french perspective from Camus and his absurdism: decisions have already been made and will be notified to us wether we like it or not, and therefore nothing we do from this moment up to then, will have any intrinsic meaning (just like life towards an inevitable death). Or conversely, should we embrace life and make every moment worth it before the peremptory deadline? Whatever... congratulations to those who got it, even if you don't know it yet
  7. It depends on the epistemological focus you may want to exercise. If you want to see it from a positivistic stance, decisions have materially been made, but knowledge hasn't been made available to us. We must use the proper methods to help us reach it. In this case, killing time in the most efficient way. If you like phenomenology (or platonic world-of-ideas method) better, yes, no decision has been made yet, as the subject (us) has not identified the object (the decision) and therefore its spirit hasn't been shaped by the constructor of knowledge.
  8. So, our fate is already sealed, we just don't know about it. Pretty much like life, some might say.
  9. I love the fact that I'm not the only one overreading everything HKS posts, and comparing it to previous years. I'd say we should all chill out, but that's not going to happen. Surviving this week will be an accomplishment, admitted or not
  10. Nope, I applied to the MPA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy.
  11. I just got the email too ! Admitted
  12. Congratulations ! You seem to be the only one who got something.
  13. Nope, it probably doesn't mean anything. Just regular kindness.
  14. I can't believe Wagner sent out an email about 2 hours ago inviting to a career expo. I simply can't believe they do that.

    Berkeley, CA

Hi there. I'm currently polishing my budget to study at Berkeley. Does anyone know approximately up to how much could the living expenses amount for a single guy? Excluding rent and utilities. Just regular expenses like food and having a drink every once in a while? Thank you for your help.
  16. I hope so too. I'll share you my stats in PM. I got an email with a scanned letter.
  17. Yes. That same award. It certainly feels warm in the gut. I don't think anyone will match it, and the relief from finishing grad school debt free would be amazing. It has me thinking, heh... The thing is that I already have a budget for Goldman with at most $20 000 of debt by graduation, and on the long run I don't think that money will make as much difference as the program.
  18. I just received a financial offer. They awarded me a Johnson Fellowship for $50 000. Turning that offer down will be one of the hardest things I will have done in my life.
  19. I'm starting to feel Wagner will send out emails on Friday at 11:59pm.
  20. Thank you. And that'll give you full tuition waiver?
  21. There is no way to calculate an acceptance rate based on the data presented in those statistics.
  22. 15-18%? The latest data I have found show about 25-28% on HKS. However, maybe that's weighted by higher rates in the MPA and MC/MPA. Goldman is about 25-30% from what I've read. Don't take my word on this data. Most of it is based on discussions like this one at several forums or non-official websites.
  23. Does anyone know about the chances to get 2nd year funding at HKS if you don't get anything on the first year? Are TA positions available and accessible? I'm asking this because I would be able to pay for the first year, but by no means for the second one. Assuming I will receive no aid at all.
  24. Wagner is due this Friday.
