Agreed. There seems to be some kind of resentment towards HKS that is perceived in every post. I hope that bashing your own school at prospective-student forums is not a widespread conduct from HKS students. However, if that was the case, I would have to agree with the previous comments that gaining admission to HKS is not at all any indication of personal worth.

If you check the results for the past years, they usually send out notifications between a span of 3-4 days. Additionally, they don't send a wave for acceptances and a wave for rejections, they are mixed.

Agreed with Kadisha. If you apply to the HKS it is because few programs will provide you with better tools to make a real change in the causes you're committed with. If one is trying to get into Harvard just to be looked up at parties, there is something wrong. Honestly, this discussion seems completely out of order.

Because I was interviewed about a month ago for the Lisa Goldberg Fellowship, and even though I didn't make it to the top 3, I was top 7 from over 250 candidates. If you also received the interview for the LG Fellowship, that means you and I are 2 of the 4 who didn't make it to the podium

Thank you for your advice. Certainly, I have given a lot of meditation to matters like the ones you mentioned. The thing with SIPA is that it has been my dream and obsession for many years now. Also, like I said, that is a personal ranking that doesn't take into account the financing options I may get, and that is why I won't withdraw LBJ yet. If I receive no funding at all to GPPI and Wagner, rejects from the other 3, and full ride at LBJ, it would be worthwhile to give it a chance.

I did get into the GPPI. No funding information yet. Goldman ranks third on my list (after SIPA and HKS) but I think I have more chance of getting money at Goldman than at the other two, and that would be a deal breaker.

Thank you John. I am still waiting from LBJ, Wagner, SIPA, HKS and Goldman. In Wagner I was one of the 7 semi-finalists for a fellowship, and I did not advance to the next phase (only 3 were chosen). However, they informed that the total pool of applicants for that fellowship was of over 250 applicants, so that probably means I am a competitive candidate. Therefore, my confidence of at least getting an admit there is strong. Interestingly, I always felt that my applications to GPPI and Wagner were the weakest. I hope that's a good omen. How about you?

I am an international student and I also had to submit the scholarship essay. Did you receive the acceptance email? When? They usually send the email about the essay 1-2 days after you get the heads up.

English is not my native language, but from what I have read most places will not take much into account your TOEFL score to leverage for a low GRE Verbal score. They both measure very different aspects of the english language. The TOEFL may just be an enforcer in case you have a good score in both, or viceversa.
