Every time I get an email about my program I get so uncontainably excited... then a little voice is my head says "It is going to be a lot of work! Why are you so excited?"

hello. so I am a rising senior at UT Austin. this fall semester i will be applying for a masters in speech pathology. i am heavily considering going back home in El Paso for my masters. Any of you out there who can give me aome info on the SLP masters program at UTEP? so many El Pasoans trash UTEP and i really want to have a good idea of what i can expect from this graduate program

Microsoft just made my night! I just received my new computer today and found out that I'm eligible for a free Office 365 subscription through my school-issued email. So glad I won't have to pay for MS Office on top of everything else :/

So many prospectives asking about time to degree... Real talk though: five year PhD and be miserable, or seven year PhD and be happy? I'll take seven years any day.

My university is closed today due to inclement weather. :/

First half of candidacy exams: done. Huge relief.

My friend's foster dog attacked my face yesterday, and now I have a bruised jaw. I'm not upset with the dog at all, but I'd like to not be bruised for classes today.

Considering all my ETS tests have shown me the same scores, I guess I have plateaued at 159V 151Q. Test is Saturday. I know these aren't great scores.... But they're not really horrible, right?

I'm so bored right now. My classes are easy and I can't start research because of field work timing constraints. I just want something to do.

If I could fire my students, I would fire about 75% of the total chemistry undergrads at my school.

Decided today that I am joining Match and Eharmony!! I am determined to be married by the end of my 2 year program. yay so excited!!

I accepted the offer to my first choice program on Wednesday... today I get an email from the postdoc in the lab (who was away when I visited, so I never met her), telling me how excited she is that I decided to come. It's nice to be in a lab where you're clearly wanted.... :-)

So quiet in here... where are you guys?

I love seeing the results page when a really cocky student gets rejected.

Getting some experience with grant writing this week. I really will miss my job when I leave for school. I've had some awesome experiences here.
