I have no patience. This is worse than applying to undergrad programs. I called Chicago yesterday to get my results (which they gave me), and this morning I called Harvard (nothing). We should be hearing "within a week" (by next Friday). Damn it. Good luck to everyone!

I am glad that you called Harvard; I knew that someone would do it. Maybe because of the later deadline this year, they are taking their dear time. I would like to call Chicago, too, but I would hate to hear bad news over the phone.

HDS decisions are up. I got in!

Wow! Congratulations to everyone who got into Harvard! That's awesome! Thank goodness I was born when I was, lol, I would *hate* to be applying for PhD programs in the same pool as y'all!

This TOTALLY wins my vote as best and happiest thread on TGC. :D

Holy Shit. I got into HDS! Congrats to all. We should start a little discussion about who's going to the prospective student day.

Congrats to you, too Johndiligent! You have so many great choices!!! Are you leaning towards one in particular?

Thanks! At this juncture, it's the U of C. But it fluctuates!

Congratulations to all the HDS admits! It seems like an eternity ago that I was accepted, even though it was just last year (on a lucky Friday the 13th no less).

If anyone wants to talk about HDS or living in Boston/Cambridge, feel free to give me a shout.

Just received my acceptance letter for the University of Chicago AM. Only received 50% tution, so I will be declining the offer.

Isn't that disappointing? Especially since UofC's tuition is about 200% of most other divinity schools...I am in the same unfortunate boat, where I must decline for financial reasons...

I probably would have declined even if they offered me 100% since I have an offer of 100% on the table with the possibility of a $9k assistantship stipend. Still, I can't believe that tuition alone is almost $40k at UChicago. Factor in living expenses, books and medical insurance and you're looking at $60k/year for a masters degree in humanities. I refuse to believe that *anyone* accepts their offer unless the degree is 100% subsidized.
