So I saw in here for you go to ASHA’s Ed Find and look at the applications received and divide that by admissions offer you have a good estimate of the acceptance rate of that school. So what is a good acceptance rate for a school? Some schools have a 30-40% and then I found one that was 74%. I’m just really stressed about my stats. I’m only a sophomore and I plan on applying to penn state that looks at the last 60 credits. I’m really involved on campus and I’m a member of nsslha, tour guide, I’m apart of Greek life, I hold leadership positions, I volunteer. It’s just my gpa. I read about people who got rejected with having a 3.7 gpa. I’m worried that I’ll barely make it to a 3.4 (I have a 3.0)

Hi there - it's hard to say what a "good" acceptance rate is for grad school... I think 30-40% is pretty solid, if I had to guess, based on when I was applying to colleges a long time ago heh. Don't worry about your numbers at this point. While it can be a good indication of someone's future performance in grad school, there are so many other ways to show that you are a deserving candidate. You also have plenty of time, even if you were planning to go to grad school straight from undergrad. I'm still waiting to hear back from schools, but I'm on the lower range of GPA, but I have decent GRE scores and experience. I got into schools my first application cycle. You will be fine!!! And identifying what you need to work on now as a sophomore puts you WAY ahead of most students. Best of luck!

I just got accepted to Penn State with a 3.47 Cul. GPA, 3.94 CSD post-bacc GPA, Q156 V159 AW 4.0. I have tons of research and leadership experience and worked jobs like camp counselor, tutor, and lifeguard. Like people replied in your last post, most programs look at way more than your GPA.

It is definitely true that programs look at more than your GPA. That being said, I would strongly suggest trying to boost your GPA during your last years of undergrad. You definitely have time, and having a stronger GPA will only benefit you, as some schools are pickier than others with GPA. You want to make yourself the best candidate possible in all areas so that you have many options.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Let me know if you have any questions! Overall I ended with a very similar gpa and I was accepted. It really depends on the applicants that year and also the program as well. It myself took 3 application cycles but I was accepted :)
