RoseThrn82 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I just got an admit in the mail today later than expected. Anyway, I'm all happy when I open the letter and see congratulations _____ you've been accepted into.... then I read Sports Management program and I'm like huh? I didn't apply for any sports management program. I don't even see how a sports management program would even be in the department that I did apply too. Crazy!
Jae B. Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Whoa! Sounds like you need to make a serious phone call on Monday.... Good luck! Are you interested in going to this school, if the program listed on your acceptance is just a mistake? I'm surprised they took so long and still made an error like that.
RoseThrn82 Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Yeah I'm sure its just a typo, but it was funny and the last thing I expected to read. However, I have no intentions on going to that school. It was the my last choice in the first place so its not just because they made the typo. However, they did take way way long to send anything.
Squawker Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Take notice, prospective Sports Management students! Here is a program you can apparently get into without having any interest in the field whatsoever!
origin415 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Maybe its a sign. Are you sure sports management isn't what you really wanted the whole time? joops 1
DariaIRL Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sometimes programs will make an offer to a program or track that you didn't apply to. A friend of mine applied for an MSW but they offered her a spot in their PhD of Social Work program instead. But this one seems like a really funny error.

Omg, I guess it is good news and bad news all in one letter. I wish you the best of luck in getting the mistake corrected. I think they owe you an admit for the correct program due to their mistake.
