I just got an interview offer from UCSB (counseling track)! I guess they're still doing them!

I applied for UCSB Clinical  ,Did you see any changes in your Application status at the portal? mine shows "Submitted"

Mine still says submitted and I don't see any departmental communications in there either. I haven't heard much from clinical people. Just remember that every faculty mentor has their own schedule and are most likely sending their invites at different days and times. Don't give up hope! I'm sure you'll hear something soon ?

does anyone know how much funding students at UCSB get? ? I applied to counseling, but I'm sure clinical and school get the same amount

I remember reading a section in the School Psychology Handbook that broke down the type of funding students could receive. This is the link, hopefully it can help to an extent.

Is anyone else feeling nervous about their preliminary interview? For those who have completed this stage, how did you feel about it when it was over? Sending everyone positive energy!

The interview felt like it went by really fast & even one of the professors mentioned this at the end. They said they always tell the other professor, who was in the interview, these initial interviews always go by so quickly. The professors were very nice and enthusiastic. Good luck !

Thanks! I'm having mine tomorrow and am looking forward to it! I'm excited now, but tomorrow is probably when the anxiety is going to set in, haha!

I finished my first round interview with UC Santa Barbara today (yay!) and was told that we would all be hearing back on Friday regarding who's invited to the second round!

Congrats on interviews everyone! Super exciting :') I was curious if anyone has an idea on if all first round invitations were sent out. My POI was very encouraging of my experience/grad school objectives when first corresponding with her in October. I'm totally braced to apply next cycle, just a little sad to not have the opportunity chat with her this round. Any info could help ease my desire to refresh my email haha. Relatedly, for folks that have received first round interviews- were your initial interactions with your POIs more personal or did responses feel generic? 

Thanks in advance for any insight :) UCSB school psych is my top choice and I'd love to hear folks' experiences so far!

How is everyone feeling after this first round of interviews? I had mine yesterday, which was pretty exciting! My PI didn't give an exact timeframe about when we would be hearing back, but it was said that we would be hearing back pretty soon regardless of being invited to the second round.

I was feeling very nervous because this program is one of my top choices and I really didn't want to mess it up, so I didn't do as well as I had hoped ?  If I end up getting a formal interview invite, I need to be more relaxed next time ?

I am clinical, I had a preliminary interview this week and today I was just informed that I was invited to the final interview day in January.

HI everyone! 

I got an email letting me know that I'm not invited to second round, but, I was also told that they were impressed with my application and interview, think I'm a strong candidate, and that I'm still being considered for admission. I thought that only people who get invited to second round are offered admission because second round is their interview day? How do you think I should interpret this? Is there a hidden waitlist or something, or was this just a super nice rejection? ?

Congratulations to everyone that heard back and were offered a second round invitation! I'm super proud of all of you and wish you the best of luck!!!
