visiblevariation Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 With the FSI MIP deadline coming up, I thought I'd make a thread to keep in touch with fellow Stanford hopefuls.
Argentina Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Has anyone got any news on Stanford MIP decisions? I’m getting anxious ? wildchartermage, visiblevariation, Fruit and 1 other 3 1
intlapplicant Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 I haven't hear back yet either... What's the expected date for us to know? Does anyone know if they offer any scholarships upon admission?

Does anyone know if they offer any scholarships upon admission? Given the increased applications for schools this year I'm frankly not expecting to hear back before the 15th...which is killing me. My understanding is that they offer very limited financial aid, unless you managed to get accepted for KHS.
egghorse Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Any thoughts on whether results will come out today? They have come out on the 6th for the past three years, but ofc now it’s a weekend. Also they are holding KHS finalist weekend (virtually) this weekend so not sure if that will affect things.
corporateslave Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Hey guys, any info regarding the acceptance rate for MIP? Just curious....
visiblevariation Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 Based on past years' results, I'm guessing we'll be getting our results in the next week or so. It's been an intense application cycle so I wouldn't be surprised if there were some delays this year. Best of luck to everyone!
sp_ Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Heard nothing so far but have been mentally preparing for something closer to 15 Mar since the site says "a decision letter will be sent via email in mid-March," and as others have said I'm sure the application volume is high this year. wildchartermage 1
mzl28 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Oh I thought (and based on what I read on other forum) the application volume this year is lower. But anyway wishing the best of luck to everyone!
Argentina Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Very anxious about Stanford definitions! Based on last year announcement dates we should have already received an answer from them :s Do you believe we will hear from them this week?

I think the general consensus is that application volume is up for most every graduate program in this cycle, but agreed, it doesn't seem that way for Stanford MIP based on the comments on the 2021 Results thread alone. I don't know why this thread has been quieter compared to other similar programs, but that definitely seems to be the case. Here's to hoping for good results soon! corporateslave and sp_ 2
mzl28 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Hey guys, do we need to use CertiFile service to make our transcripts marked as "complete"? Because mine is still "received (not official)" Really need your advise on this. Thank you so much!

intlapplicant Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 I had a question about class size...Their website says a typical class has 25 students...Does that mean only around 25 people will be accepted into the MIP, or am I totally misreading it? Here is the link: https://fsi.stanford.edu/masters-degree
IR Policy Nerd Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 @intlapplicant I believe that's the case - Stanford's MIP is a very small program (25 to 30 admitted students, 42% international). https://www.foreignaffairs.com/sponsored/gradschoolforum/stanford-university
wildchartermage Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Email was just sent out. Rejected, but it's okay! Check out my signature below.
intlapplicant Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 is the result in the actual email or you have to login to the application portal?

corporateslave Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Rejected but kinda expected. Good luck everyone! IR Policy Nerd and wildchartermage 2
