McMaster MSc Global Health Fall 2021

hello all, I also got waitlisted yesterday. My last name starts with an A and I submitted on Jan 29.

as for my stats, 11.8 GPA. I didn't feel by SOI was very strong so not really surprised. I have lots of student leadership experience, research experience (neuroscience), and volunteer experience (hospital/clinic).  Not sure if this will help anyone but I wanted to share anyhow !

Nope

I sent them an email yesterday asking if all offers have been sent out, no reply.

I emailed them today asking if all waitlist positions had been sent out, no reply either.

On the website it says 70 but someone from a forum who was in the program this past year said about 100-120.

If the rest of us are going to get rejected, I wish they would just send out the emails already.... instead of keeping us in this suspense....

I just got a conditional offer!

Stats: 11.1 (recent 10)

EC: global health research in Latin America, publications, presentations, small charity group, clinical/hospital volunteering, tutoring immigrant groups

SOI: I didn't feel like my SOI was very strong. I tried to discuss all of the questions they mentioned on the website. I tried to explain how my experiences/interests aligned with the specialization I had chosen.

 

I think they are still sending out offers! 

My offer letter said: 

"Due to an issue that is affecting some of McMaster IT services, official offer letters are experiencing some delays and we are unable to generate them at the moment."

Congrats!! Did your mosaic update too or just an email? Also, what time did you receive your email?

Received an offer today! Had pretty much lost hope as I hadn’t received even a waitlist email. Received the email at 4:31 PM, nothing on Mosaic (they mentioned in the email that there seem to be some issues right now).

They didnt say anything (probably because it is an unofficial letter).

Going to assume I got the R lol.. Thought my SOI and GPA were good enough but it's not sounding like it.

Stat L10: 11.9

EC: Working with vulnerable populations, quite a few ECs related to public/global health, research in maternal and child health, research in ASD and mental health, a lot of volunteering.

SOI: Thought it was decent, was able to link all the main points to my research/ECs. Talked about research informing policy discussion and went pretty in depth about why I chose the specific specialization. 

My Mosaic is still that terrifying green circle, so please don't lose hope guys! I'm here to answer any additional questions if you guys have any. This forum has been so helpful to me ?

They sent an unofficial acceptance. In the email they mentioned that the official offer would come in a few days. So may they are sending out more offers in the next few days since their system has been slow/glitching.

I got my email at 4:31!

I received my offer at 4:30. I'm still in shock. I didn't think I would get in so I accepted my offer to another school. Thankfully I didn't have to pay in order to accept.

My school wasn't in the GPA calculator so I have no idea what my GPA is.
