goldenpetridish Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Hi anyone planning on applying for Stanford Biosciences 2022 round? Looking for some comrades!
goldenpetridish Posted July 30, 2021 Author Posted July 30, 2021 Hi, have you started preparing? and what home program are you looking at?
BioBoy0323 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Hello, I am currently looking at the following departments in the main 14: Biochemistry Structural Biology Outside of the main 14 programs, I am also looking at bioengineering. I am trying to go for de novo protein design. Currently, I am still compiling all the schools I will apply for based on PIs. Once that is done, I will being work on writing personal statements/statement of purposes based on all the different schools requirements.
hello_neuro Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 I'm hoping to apply for Neuroscience. Glad to find a group of others!
MediaMonkey Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Hi. I just learned about this website and think it is so useful! I am interested in the chemical and systems biology program and structural biology programs. I want to do drug development from the biochemical perspective. I have spent this summer searching for the right type of programs with PI's that fit my interest. I am about to start the hard part and actually prepare my applications.
anthro_eco Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Hi! I'll be applying in Ecology, reached out to a faculty and found out they aren't taking students next year, but they said they'd be happy to co-advise so that's something not negative I guess.

Iverya Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 I am hoping to apply for stem cell and regenerative medicine. Glad to find a group of others!
anthro_eco Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Can anybody chime in on how much the faculty can weigh in on during AdCom in tracks without lab rotations? I had been in conversation with a faculty who was in his words rather impressed and very excited about the ideas I pitched them, they even went on to say they'll do everything in their power to get me into the program. I would've been confident after their commitment if I didn't have the profile I do, but all my research experience only has a conceptual overlap with what I'd like to do during grad school due to the field being so small in my country that there just weren't people working in what I was interested in.
MediaMonkey Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Hi, Stanford Biosciences has an informative zoom meeting this Thursday (October 28th) at 10am-12pm (Pacific Time). I am guessing they will talk about the program and application. I thought this information would be good to share here! I found this on their twitter page. They have a link to register there. It looks like some of the home programs also have sperate more specific meetings at other days/times too.
MediaMonkey Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Did anyone in this chat interview last week? I am hoping to hear back and just wondering when the first acceptances will roll out... I think soon
