it was kind of a check in about my interest in the program. my PI at the beginning of the call wouldn’t tell me if i was accepted or rejected. i wanted to be as transparent and honest as possible so i basically expressed that i’m super close to committing to a different program, that UW isn’t my first choice anyways, and i’d like them to not waste their time on me and consider other students. idk they just took super long to get back to me about the admission process and during all that time i was getting familiar with the programs that accepted me and offered me fellowships. after all that my PI at UW kind of switched up on me and tried to convince me to wait a week or two and now they’re trying to get me in contact with some current grad students and give me an opportunity to observe a lab meeting over zoom. they were super vague but they kind of explained that accepting me took awhile bc they were trying to figure out funding opportunities that closely matched my interest… idk about the whole thing now

Just got accepted to New Mexico State University's PhD program! I will be declining my offer for the University of Oregon's Master's program at the Portland campus (hopefully someone on the waitlist can get bumped up!). I am still waitlisted for the University of Montana's PhD program and hoping to get an offer since they are my top choice. I am interviewing with UC Denver tomorrow, has anyone done the timed writing sample yet?

Did you ever hear from Montana?

I am not applying this cycle. I actually applied last cycle and was accepted and decided to defer for a year, so I will be starting my School Psych PsyD program in Fall 2022!!

Hi! I finally committed to a program so figured I'd share my experience.  I'm an Advanced Standing student with a 3.9 Graduate GPA, years of experience as a School Psychologist, research experience, and strong recommendation letters.  I applied to 5 NY/NJ programs (went to an additional two Open Houses but decided not to apply), interviewed at 3, and was accepted to 2 (the 3rd only had 2 Advanced Standing slots and I was told I was the 3rd choice).

One piece of advice I'd  give prospective students regarding choosing to a program- take note of how organized and communicative (or lack thereof) a program is.  A disorganized, uncommunicative program does not bode well for how your dissertation process will go once you're actually admitted to a program: your success relies heavily on how accessible and helpful your professors are. The schools that lacked these attributes in the admissions process were also the schools current students expressed frustration with when I asked them about their personal experience.

Good luck to everyone still on their journey!

School Psychology, a general practice of Health Service Psychology, is concerned with children, youth, families, and the schooling process. School psychologists are prepared to intervene https://writinguniverse.com/free-essay-examples/islam/  at the individual and system levels, and develop, implement and evaluate programs to promote positive learning environments for children and youth from diverse backgrounds, and to ensure equal access to effective educational and psychological services that promote health development.

Good luck! I also just got an interview invite from UCSB for the M.Ed. program :)

Hello I know this is old, but I would really appreciate if you provided your stats, as I am considering applying to M.Ed. programs as well.

Hi!! I know it has been so long since you post this, but I'm wondering did you get into uw-madison program after the call, if you don't mind sharing? I'm kind of in a similar situation right now and really eager to know what's going on. Thank you so much!!

hey!! happy to help! ik it's a super stressful time for applicants rn. long story short, no, i did not end up going to uwm. i instead let my prof know that i was planning to commit to another program, so i didn't really give the prof enough time to accept or reject me. however, i do remember being fairly confident that i was going to be accepted since it was btw me and one other person who ended up reaching out to me on here and telling me that they were rejected. looking back, i understand that the process was taking awhile at uwm bc they were getting funding opportunities sorted out so the prof's hands were tied but idk ... i didn't like that i had to ask to be connected to other grad students, virtually sit in on a lab meeting, etc. these were all experiences that other programs offered to me, which just made me feel more wanted. if you're going through a similar situation i would maybe ask the prof to be as transparent as possible and just really express your interest in the program (e.g., ask about zooming in for a lab meeting, get one of their grad student's emails to chat with them). good luck!

Thank you so much for sharing it!! This is really helpful. I'm also a little bit frustrated about this process bc they are being very vague and never get back to me at the time they promised... but I will definitely do what you suggested! Thank you again and wish you all the best in your grad school!!
