Yeah, I once got a notification that my app is complete and then a few days later that it's... complete. I wanted to scream.

Naropa sent me an email with just "Congratulations" in the subject line to let me know that my app was complete, like come on guys read the room

Re-read Elif Batuman's essay "Get a Real Degree" and it almost convinced me to apply to PhD's next year lol. Def a bit unfair to MFA's as I understand them (her biggest gripe is that you don't take literature classes, which may have been true in 2010 but def is not now) but an interesting and thought-provoking read. And great to remember there are many other life paths....

just got back from ice skating class! i purchased symphony tickets for TWO separate concerts this week - one for $12, one for $24 (ty LA philharmonic CODA program!! i love you LA philharmonic CODA program!) my significant other is on his way over with vegan yellow curry and valentine's day presents! it's a good night!!

Reading Portait of the Artist as a Young Man and the latest Ploughshares while recovering from my root canal this past am. The root canal wasn't exactly fun, but it did give me a few hours of not thinking about MFA stuff.
