With Mississippi and Michener, that's 8 rejections and 7 pending. I'm starting to think that I'm going to get a full sweep of Rs this season baby (as opposed to the one waitlist I managed to snag last year). 

 

Weirdly enough, I don't feel anything. Positive, negative...nothing, really. Just nothing.

Same about the feeling, although I'm a mixed bag of empty and delulu.

This is coming from 2 soft rejections and 1 official rejection out of 7 so I don't know  🤷‍♀️

I had an interview with UPitt last week. They had emailed me to schedule it.

I guess I'm kinda finding it hard to even hold on to delulu after Alabama and Ole Miss. It's like a part of me knows the end is near, and I'm just waiting for hard confirmation. 

 

Gonna be a bitch to go to work tomorrow. What a start to the week.

I am dying for a response from Kansas U, they'd be my first choice. I know they're not exactly what one would call 'prestigious,' but the faculty just seems perfect to me. I keep refreshing my app status page like a maniac.

My favorite professor attended a "nonprestigious" school and is now the chair of his department and a Fellow at UW-Madison and Iowa!! I applied to lower key schools too, but it's about the writing and the experience. Good luck!!!

First year I got 1 waitlist and 5 rejections. Second year was 7 rejections. I’m on my third round now and I finally got my first acceptance at American University! Sometimes it can be a bit of a crapshoot, but if you’ve got a waitlist under your belt at any point then you’re definitely a really competitive applicant, it’s just about luck and timing.

And there it is! 5th Michener rejection.

Does anyone know what the timeline for UT's NWP notifications is? Since Michener notifies around the same time each year, assume NWP has a cadence as well.

My michener portal updated to declined finally! fun to hope while it lasted.

it's my official 2nd decline, but 5th counting soft rejections.

we still have hope for the 11 pending!!!!

For having applied to 21 programs like an actual insane person, it feels like overall it's been soooo quiet for me. I'm about to do a summoning spell or something. Hoping the chaos of this morning continues today, I want to hear some NEWS even if it's bad!!!!

If this helps at all, I already got rejected from Kansas. I'm not sure if they go in waves or what, but take that as you will haha. I was interested in the spec fic side of it, but evidently that didn't go too well lol.

I don't know if it makes me feel any better, but thanks! I'll try to be positive. Or not negative, which is different, but more realistic.

Not to falsely build any hope for you, but I do wonder if Vanderbilt and other Southern US schools will see higher decline rates from accepted applicants because of the increasingly draconian and anti-humanitarian sociopolitical climate there especially, never mind the country as a whole.
