communications13
It is officially Friday. And so it is now officially superbowl weekend, ah blessed distractions. In your most academically convincing ways, list reasons team x or team y will win the superbowl or off the wall interesting things you hope happen on Sunday football, party, commercial, fan etc related. newms
Woooo! Something to take my mind off grad school applications...if only for Sunday. I'm a Cowboys fan so the prospect of either the Packers or Steelers, especially the Steelers, winning in Dallas doesn't really appeal to me. Then again, if the Steelers do win, I definitely won't be thinking about grad school as much on Monday
communications13
I can't help but laugh at the people who picked Dallas as the site this year....you know when they did they said "at least it'll be warm!" They've had to spend the whole week in freezing temps outside the stadium. When will they learn? Always pick Florida or Hawaii.
Kathiza
I've never watched football or baseball (not popular sports in my country at all) - so I guess I have to learn about this before coming to the US. Maybe the Superbowl is a good start?

Maybe the Superbowl is a good start? Your signature says you applied to UNC, UMiami and Mizzou...so YES. Okay, sure you can get away with not liking football, but those three schools in particular are Football heavy. And when you get here you'll find there is much to love! Screaming fans, cute boys in uniforms, alcohol....it's what we call the "college experience". Okay, yeah, study, get good grades, but sports are a great way to pass the time and as a student at most schools going to college sporting events is FREE! drumms9980
I'll be watching. I'm a huge 49ers fan, so I have to cheer for Aaron Rodgers since we passed on him for Alex Smith in the draft in 05.

StrangeLight
i'm in pittsburgh. i'm sick of the steelers but hope they win because i missed all the legendary riots after their previous wins. students drag couches into the street and set them on fire and people tear bus shelters and lamp posts out of the ground. i'm glad i don't live on the ground floor. maniacs. i'm hoping a sunday night riot spills over into monday and they cancel classes. rsldonk
That didn't work out so well for you guys huh? Alex would have worked out a whole lot better had San Fransisco provided some sort of blocking for him. Packers fans are like hemorrhoids, they are a pain in the ass and you never really quite get rid of them. What do you call a 300 lb. Packers fan? Anorexic. drumms9980

Yeah, and some receivers, and some good coaching. Not to worry, Harbaugh will turn things around. drumms9980
communications13
I don't want either team to win. Instead, I'm rooting for my team Blue Moon, Shock Top and Linney's.
kyjin
I'm an Eagles fan, so I don't have rooting interests in either team. However, I really hate the Steelers (it's a Philly vs. Pittsburgh thing) and am sick of my friend getting excited over them winning all the time, so I hope the Packers cream them. Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to watch the game. I'm desperately looking for a bar that will air it here, but that's hard to do when it'll be 6 or 7 am my time. drumms9980

neuropsych76
I'm a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan It will be a great game because both teams are very strong all the way around. However, a lot of people tend to forget how awful the Packers running game was during the regular season. The Steelers have an awesome run defense. Therefore, I think the Steelers will be able to control the game and should win unless they have more turnovers than the Packers.
