Vanier CGS 2011-2012

Congrats to those of you who were awarded the scholarship this year. My experience last year was that there was a major delay before an official public announcement was made about the winners (and I only figured out when the "announcement" took place by monitoring the vanier web site media section; they issued a press release and that was it). And that was in a year with no election! In the current age of fiscal austerity I doubt they will hold any kind of event with the current crop of winners, though who knows. Just keep checking that media section is all I can offer you.

So the official announcement is on the 3rd of August in McMasters. I will certainly not be attending as flights are way too expensive with such short notice.

Can  anyone tell me how many letters of reference are required for the Vanier? I am almost certain it is one for leadership, specifically, but how many other letters are required? The website seems somewhat unclear.

Also, should the letters of reference come from one's home institution, or the one that is nominating?
