gelaface Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 indeed. what's everyone applying in? i'm doing ecology, which is scary because that's a huge field and my reviewers might not be as familiar with my focus as they could be (then again, this could work both ways, e.g., my terrible ideas sounding genius to someone unfamiliar with the field) I applied to "Law and Social Science," not realizing that historically there has only been one (!) award given out in that subject area. So really, there is so small a chance that my worrying about it is silly.
Nic42 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Just logged into Fastlane and pulled up the Awardee List, and the subheading underneath the search functions now reads "2012 Awardee List" instead of "2011 Awardee List," like it said this morning. I really think this is it...

I really think this is it... seems like a good sign!!!
TXTiger2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 You mean on the homepage, before you sign in? It's said "2012" for a while, just under the heading is an asterisk saying this year's list isn't available yet.
schoolpsych_hopeful Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I think Nic42 means here: https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=loadAwardeeList
Xavi6 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What section are you referring to? This has been up for the last week: 2012 Offered Award List * The list of Awardees and Honorable Mention recipients for the year you have selected is not yet available. TXTiger2012 1
lamberc1 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yea I'm not seeing '2012' in the pull-down list...
TXTiger2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yeah, exactly. There's a link to that on the GRFP log-in page. Its been labeled as the 2012 Award Offered List for at least a couple weeks, I can't remember exactly when they changed it. avampa 1

But yeah, ecology is so huge that it's hard to imagine any ecologist being instantly familiar with whatever your focus is. I only hope it goes (went) well!
Jimbo2 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 i almost applied under marine bio too, but the geosciences umbrella scared me away.
eakmurphy Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Same here! Since when is marine bio not a life science? I'm doing ecology as well, although I realised after submitting it that I might actually have needed to turn it in to Marine Biology, which is listed under Geosciences (for some reason), which was due a couple of days earlier...
