We should remember that some people here were told by NSERC that the letters would be mailed after the budget. We shouldn't jump to conclusions about our individual statuses.

Man there's a lot of nervousness and speculation going on here. It's all a story of he said, she said, my friend said. Just wait until you get your letters and relax. Yes it's an outdated system but a lot of these things are done the old fashioned way (for example contracts can typically only be mailed or faxed, as e-mail hasn't been tested in court)

Oh, well. I did not hear anything today, even though I am in Ottawa.

I have to focus on my thesis defense preparation, since it is next week.

I guess a NSERC fellowship is not my future, even though it might make my future easier.

Persons that don't receive the answer does not mean that they are rejected. I know a person tha appllied for Master scholarship and i'm sure that she will win. She did not receive anyting yet.

yep I guess they're waiting for the budget to be fixed !!! but still, I wonder how some people already got their letters, it feels that good applicants had the priority !!!

L'année passé, j'avais appliqué à la même bourse. J'avais meme pas commence mon doctorat. J'ai été malheureusement refusé.

La compétiton augmente d'année en année.

En 2009-2011, mon ami a gagné la ESD3 et :

1) I a fait un passge bac-doc

2) Il avait aucun article de journal ni de conférence ni de chapitre de livre

3) Il avait une moyenne de 3.79/4

Parfois, il faut aussi un peu de chance. Ca depend de l'évaluateur

Could happen !!! I am a candidate for Vanier as well, but I know I wouldn't stand infront of such active candidates who are much more involved in community relevant works !

Is there anyone who get PGS and not CGS.

If yes, it means that they already know how many scholarship they will give this year (so they know th budget)

Posted

I Vanier candidate too.

Good luck Vivaldy.

From which university you are ?

Concordia University ... I have no hope for Vanier !!!

Am starting to lose hope for NSERC as well :-)

What I know is you have more chance than me

I agree. When you read the comments of peopel, you start to loose hope. People here = paper machine
