cardnav
I'm applying for Masters degrees in HR/IR. Anyone else out there applying for these programs at either the Masters or at the PhD level?
ApplicationsTakeTwo
I applied to about a dozen PhD programs in OBHR and so far have not had any luck. I wish the schools were faster in their decision processes.
socialpsych
Mulrich, what programs? Would you mind sharing? I have only heard from one of my OB programs...I think many of them don't interview, and I'm expecting to hear starting next week and into early March. doctoraldude
@cardnav - you might want to check the psych boards for folks interested in similar things, the business board seems pretty sleepy here :? @socialpsych - is it a west coast school ? socialpsych
@socialpsych - is it a west coast school ? Nope, Columbia. If you are thinking of Stanford or Haas, I think those will take another week or more (I think Stanford may notify next week). I already posted everything on TM. Thank you for the suggestion. Several of my programs are housed in business schools, so I figured this was the better place to put it -- I did consider putting this post in the psych section and may make a second thread there. ApplicationsTakeTwo
I applied at Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, Texas AM, Purdue, Indiana, WashU, North Carolina, Oregon, Iowa, Connecticut, Kansas and Georgia. So far I've received rejection letters from Minnesota, and UNC, and have an interview with Georgia this week.
paul
I haven't heard anything yet. I'm hoping it's not too much longer...this wait is murder.
socialpsych
Hey, another OB person! Welcome. I think they should start coming in within a week or maybe two...
ApplicationsTakeTwo
I'm trying to convince myself that nothing will arrive until mid-March, but for some reason I still end up checking this site a few times a day...

Haha. I know almost for sure that I'm not going to hear anything until the end of next week, and yet here I am.
cardnav
I'm thinking mid-March also
paul
What makes you guys think mid-March? I guess I was expecting to hear back around then too, but looking at the gradcafe acceptances from last year, the next two weeks look pretty promising. cardnav
Last years results for my programs seem to indicate mid-March, so I'm going on the premise that they are coming then. If they come earlier, great.
ApplicationsTakeTwo
I'm just trying to lower expectations. If I back in the next few weeks I will be thrilled.
socialpsych
I'm the Chicago person who posted today if anyone wants to chat.
ApplicationsTakeTwo
Congrats on Chicago, that's a great school. I've had a few friends with amazing credentials be rejected by them in the past, so you must have had a great application.
socialpsych
Thanks, mulrich. It's a great fit for my interests and I'm really excited. And then, Stanford is notifying tomorrow...eeeeee!!!
socialpsych
J/k, apparently. They notified today!!!
ApplicationsTakeTwo
Congrats again. You are in a totally different class then me. I'll be happy to get into any program, and even happier to get funding. So what school is your top choice? I love the Stanford campus. That was my dream school for a long time. socialpsych
Stanford is definitely my top choice. Chicago would be on par but for the location, which is not ideal in a few different respects. But I am very likely to end up going to Stanford. I feel so absurdly lucky to be getting great offers in a such a competitive cycle... Mulrich, it sounds like you've yet to hear from many programs...I think there is plenty of opportunity for you to get good news!! Please keep us posted!
ApplicationsTakeTwo
I've interviewed with Georgia twice, and Indiana. Indiana is flying me out next week to tour the facilities and to meet one on one. Positive feedback is always a good thing.
ionightmare
I applied to one MHR program and am waiting on funding notification. I was really more interested in a PhD in IO, but it seems that they don't want me. Less than a month to final decisions, right?
rubes6
Hey all, I started interviews at the end of January (phone int. with three profs from UNC). I applied to 11 schools in total and have only gotten an offer at Minnesota for their OB PhD program, although I haven't accepted the offer. I flew out to Florida about a week and a half ago and am in their top 3 now. Most offers have been given out, and you should just contact the PhD program coordinator to see if you made their short list (top 7-10 people), and where you stand in it. Good luck! nini312
Speaking of OB, anyone heard of the OB Master's Program at Claremont Graduate University in California? If so, did you apply or hear about their program? I applied but I'm on their waitlist. No word of my position on it yet. Still waiting and waiting.... Thanks.
