Has anyone heard from the Aerospace Masters program at University of Maryland yet? I haven't been able to get a hold of them so I don't know if decisions have already gone out...

The aero program at maryland doesn't send everything out in batches. Thye just send out letters as they review them. Also, the lag time between the departments recommendation for admission and the Maryland Graduate School sending out their decision can be awhile. I dont think they follow the April 15th deadline unfortunately. Have you been in contact with a professor? What professor would you want to work with? Have you emailed them?

Im an undergrad at Maryland and only found out my application status because I went to see Dr. Lee in person. I know its a horrible position to be in. I'm in the same position for Michigan. :(

Ah crud that's what I was worried about. Do you think it would help if I called Dr. Lee? Is he helpful? I'm not at Maryland so I don't know.

I was going for the CUIP team with Dr. Pines. I suppose I could call him too.

Sorry you're having the problem with Michigan. It's the worst. At least we're both in the same boat haha.

Ah. I've met Dr. Pines when he was the head of the dept a couple years back. He's really nice. Dr. Lee was also really nice and helpful when I emailed him. Might as well try emailing them! I know profs here sometimes dont respond to emails unless you email them a couple of times just as a warning.

Where else did you apply? Yeah, this situation is so stressful. I just wanna hear back from UMich. I just need closure.

spacecase618. Just got accepted by UMich for their MSE program. Currently searching for funding. You'll need to contact the aerospace graduate coordinator (Ms. Bowen) to obtain some information regarding decisions. All the best.

I contacted Ms. Bowen plenty of times but wasnt very helpful. I finally contacted Dr. Cesnik and who told me that I didnt get into the PhD program but got into the MSE program because they couldnt find anyone to fund me for a PhD. -_- UMich doesnt fund their MSE students very often, do they? Heres hoping that I get NDSEG!

I guess we are in the same boat. The PhD students are all funded but if there's some money left, some MSE students get lucky. Praying for a miracle right now.

Was rejected by Purdue and UIUC. Waiting on University of Florida and still praying for funding from UMICH.

I am also waiting for the decision on my ENAE (MS appplication). I was in contact with Mr. Thomas Hurst....who also mentioned that since the Professors review the applications at their own discretion, their is no uniformity in the decision dates. @spacecase618 When did u receive your decision for UMD.

I talked w/ a prof around the 21st who said he'd offer me funding unofficially. It wasnt until a week ago that I go tthe official letter so it took awhile to just go through the Graduate School to get approved and thats for a student they knew they were going to accept. I know my prof said that he personally might send out more offers at the end of the week. UMD doesnt seem to follow that April 15th deadline at all.

And Dr. Lee is in Korea until next week so any emails/calls to him will be ignored until then...

@spacecase618

Congratulations on getting a Funding offer at UMD ....I am also in contact with a Professor X who is interested in my work and has a research proposal under review (in collaboration with another Professor Y). Really hope it pans out. Is it the case that you get admitted in UMD only if you are recommended for admission by the Professor ??
