  1. I got admission to an engineering program for the Winter Term commencing January 2013. Well considering the fact that i will not be eligible to take courses that some coursemates took during the fall term, I realized I will be disadvantaged. This impending situation has got me worked up a bit knowing that i might struggle during my first semester. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
  2. I was accepted into the MSE Aerospace program at UMich. I wanted to find out if I could transfer into their Phd program at the end of the first year.
  3. I got admission from the University of Michigan to pursue a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering. The graduate school gave me a deadline to sumbit my affidavit of financial support. However, I still haven't got it ready. Is it possible to ask for an extension for a few days or weeks to get all my documents in order?
  4. Exactly the same thing I was told. Its very expensive, about 60,000. Professor I want to work with said it takes about a year before new students to get acquainted with the equipment and experiments so its probably the second semester that I can be an RA. Currently combing all areas for funding. Praying for a miracle. Which area of specialization?
  5. Is it possible to get funding in the second year of the masters program?
  6. So I appplied to a PhD program in engineering and got rejected but was giving an MSE without funding as consolation. I talked with the Professor and he claims it takes about the year before students get used to the equipment and experiments that is why masters students aren't offered funding. However concerning funding, his exact words were "After you complete your first term here and have grades, we can talk to see if there would be any openings in my group". I'm currently searching for a scholarship from my home country which I believe I'll get but only for the first year. Got me thinking - what happens in the second year. What if I'm not able to secure funding from the school. What next... Since I'm also an international student, I'm generally not eligible for fellowships and financial aid... Need advice people.
  7. I managed to get into the Aerospace MSE program at UMICH by the grace of God. But didn't come with any funding whatsoever. As an international student pursuing MS I'm not eligible for any fellowship, GSRA as well as loans. Wanted to find out whether anyone was able to get a scholarship or TA in his/ her first year at UMICH aerospace engineering (MSE).
  8. Was rejected by Purdue and UIUC. Waiting on University of Florida and still praying for funding from UMICH.
  9. I guess we are in the same boat. The PhD students are all funded but if there's some money left, some MSE students get lucky. Praying for a miracle right now.
  10. spacecase618. Just got accepted by UMich for their MSE program. Currently searching for funding. You'll need to contact the aerospace graduate coordinator (Ms. Bowen) to obtain some information regarding decisions. All the best.

    NCSU...

Applied to their aerospace engineering masters program but still haven't heard from them.
  12. On my knees right now. God will surely change things.
  13. will need some clarification on the scoring of the new GRE. Concerning the old GRE, it was general knowledge that acing your first 8 to 12 question MIGHT automatically put you in the 700+ range. How does it work with the new system considering the fact that everyone gets a mixture of hard and easy questions???
