RandiZ Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks! You too. The last I heard is that the ad comm was to hold final meeting last Friday. I expect the notifications to come this week too.
The Other Cheek Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Wow, came sooner than I'm mentally prepared for. Any word on number of spots for CCE (Culture, Communities & Education)?
JHampton Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Admission notifications should be out now. I got a phone call saying that I was admitted into the Higher Ed concentration today. Good luck to all who applied! Can't wait to meet the other admits at Welcome Week!
lonewarrior1 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats, JHampton. No call yet, so I'm hoping there's one round of calls for the Policy folks tomorrow. Either way, best of luck to you!
HigherEd2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Admission notifications should be out now. I got a phone call saying that I was admitted into the Higher Ed concentration today. Good luck to all who applied! Can't wait to meet the other admits at Welcome Week! Congrats!!! That is a big accomplishment .
JHampton Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 The professor who called me said that the official e-mails should be out on Friday. So maybe professors decide at their discretion to call. But everyone should know by the end of this week! Best of luck to you all!
The Other Cheek Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats, JHampton!! Do you mind my asking about your stats/background? Something to keep in mind should I apply again next year.
PhDHigherED Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congratulations @JHampton! I received a phone call and was accepted into the Higher Education concentration as well. I'm shocked! EdYouKateOr 1
RandiZ Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats to both of you who got admitted. Wishing you much luck and hope you fulfill your dreams and make an impact. Hoping I'll find out in the next day or two if I will be among you.

PhDHigherED Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congratulations! That is awesome news! Â Thanks very much, @EW33!
merrysoprano Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wow! So didn't someone say they were only hoping to fill two slots for the Higher Ed Ed.D concentration? And we know two! (Maybe there'll be more though!) CONGRATS!
JHampton Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Congrats @PhDHigherED! I am so excited. I find it ironic that we both got into HGSE and were both rejected from SUSE and Penn GSE. It's funny how things work out! Edited February 21, 2013 by JHampton
PhDHigherED Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats @PhDHigherED! I am so excited. I find it ironic that we both got into HGSE and were both rejected from SUSE and Penn GSE. It's funny how things work out! Â I know! I was sure that I was going to be rejected from Harvard after hearing bad news from Penn and SUSE.
The Other Cheek Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Just saw the results page. Looks like admits have been called. If previous years are any indication, all admits are typically called at least a day in advance of the official letter/email. Congrats to all! Edited February 21, 2013 by The Other Cheek
ism Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I've been called-- though just got a vm so haven't officially heard any unofficial news, but I applied for the QPAE concentration.
The Other Cheek Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Alright, no call today - I think that seals the deal. I'll still wait for the email, of course, just to have that final nail in the coffin (for now). Congrats again to those accepted!
RandiZ Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 No phone call, no email, and no status change on the web site. I'm not sure what to make of it all?
sshopeful Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) I say: wait until 5:00. They probably want offices to close so they don't get phone calls. Edited February 22, 2013 by sshopeful
lonewarrior1 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 The way you put it, it makes me laugh, but is likely their approach. I'm sure there are going to be some irrationally angry people who will be looking to vent. This will give those folks the weekend to cool off.
The Other Cheek Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) sshopeful, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I think the rest of us are waiting for a rejection letter to land in our inboxes. Results from previous years tell us that Fridays at 5pm are rejection time. Â ::bracing myself:: (Yet still, irrationally, holding on to a smidgen of hope.) I might need y'all to hold my hand while I cry . See you in 15 minutes! Edited February 22, 2013 by The Other Cheek
RandiZ Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yep, 5:03. A tad heartbroken. Congratulations to those who received a different decision. Now I can obsess about other applications.
EdYouKateOr Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 As an EDLD reject, my condolences to you all who didn't get in and sincere congrats to those who did! I hope everyone gets accepted somewhere! For those that only applied to one school like me...don't give up, try again!
