slpf13 Posted April 11, 2013 Share Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) I accepted at UNC Chapel Hill and declined SUNY New Paltz. It was a hard decision! Hopefully will help someone out on the waitlist. I hope the NP waitlist starts moving soon. Of course, they won't tell us our rankings/spots! I know you will have a wonderful time at UNC-Chapel Hill. Should I call or wait til Monday since the 15th seems to be the magic number? Almost wish I never looked because now I'm really rethinking my decision to attend FSU. NU was one of my top choices but I had given up hope and fell in love with FSU. When I saw your post, I checked my portal and there it was. It's nice to know that there really is hope of getting off of a waitlist. I just put my deposit in the mail for Montclair this morning too! I would have loved to have moved to Boston, but it's a very expensive city and Northeastern has very high tuition so I think I made the right decision with Montclair. The letter said I would receive an acceptance letter in the mail shortly. Thanks so much for the heads up! A few girls in my undergrad program applied to NEU and still haven't heard anything. In fact, on the Northeastern thread, another poster offered up an explanation. They said that batches of applications were handed out to different faculty members, and their deadlines to make admissions decisions is 4/15. So there may be a few reasons. I loved the campus and the program and am excited to begin taking speech coursework! I applied to 2 different programs and haven't heard from one yet and of course there is not way of knowing which program the letter is for, no department indicated in letter, not even from a staff member of the program to give a clue. I'm just trying to figure out if the letter was just a for formality to send a postal letter. It also is dated only 2 days after i applied to the other program so it seems a little soon to be hearing back since i doubt all the supporting materials are in yet.
