whateverneveram3n Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 In the spirit of doing something creative to pass the time (and stress) from now until whenever I hear from my last two schools...I thought perhaps starting an express-yourself-in-haiku thread was in order. Here's mine: waiting on who knows mind unable to do much time baits breath for now hopefully somebody can come up with something funny instead of depressing.

riss287 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 AWWW thanks! Your's was good too! I used to love haikus in creative writing in high school. It's about the only poetry besides limericks that I can make sound halfway decent.

frecklez301 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Hurry to apply; Wait for months for reply; All I do is sigh.
galatea Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (though this isn't a haiku) Dear Rejection-Letter Writer, In many ways I hate thee, From head to tiny toes, I would like to kick thee And punch thy humongous nose. I wish thee were a cockroach, I would smash thee with a broom Search every nook and corner And spray the entire room. I wonder how it would be If thee were blade of grass I'd pull thee out by thy root And feed the cows that pass. In many ways I hate thee From head to shiny heel. Some day I will pinch thee And my wrath thy then will feel.
TulipOHare Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (though this isn't a haiku) Dear Rejection-Letter Writer, Haw! Who says CS folks ain't literary? Nice work. LadyL Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 even as i sleep grad admissions fill my dreams not a restful night bless my advisor "I am sure that you'll get in" false hopes being crushed my top choice grad school advisor is a prof. there still no interview waitlisted AGAIN how can they do this to me STILL not good enough
Colin Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 all finalists for graduate admission must have interview ... f*ck you'd think the ten years I had spent in transition would have prepared me my portfolio did me in, or my statement which is it, tell me!
dherres Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 ANOTHER waitlist: Flattering, but not enough. Kill my hope now, please. Haikus help console My soul which mourns my future In academics. Back-up plan: teaching English overseas. Is it Just me escaping? All my PhD Rejections simply mean "Not Never, just not now." (Or so I myself to help me get through the nights.)
