Swkmjjjj I applied to Louisiana Tech, I have not heard anything back yet. However, their deadline for applications was less than a week ago, so I think there is a good chance they are still reviewing them. I know in the past they have done a interview weekend, so that is something to keep an eye on. I can't give you any input on the other two! Good luck with the process:)!

Thank you for that. Did you just submit your application on Saturday?

I've applied to IIT and based on the Results search history they tend to come out with acceptances/rejections a little later than most (they also have a later due date than other programs): seems like March is usually when people hear back from there.

I see that some people are waiting on the same universities as I am so I'm assuming that they are still looking at applications.

What does everyone think about emailing each program asking about an update?

From what I've heard they either don't respond or just give you a vague, "you app is still under review" response.

That is not a bad idea at all. I did this last year for a few of my top schools. One did give me a vague response of "we are still reviewing applicants" but they also told me that my POI was not accepting grad students so that sort of gave me an idea that I wouldn't be accepted there (and I wasn't). Another program ended up calling me within a couple days to let me know they were still in the review process but they really liked my application (I was later accepted to this program). The last program e-mailed me back within a week or so to let me know I was wait listed. With the last two programs mentioned, I really doubt that me e-mailing them led to my acceptance or wait-list status but it did give me a little peace of mind to hear back from them. Hope this helps!

I turned it in during mid-January!

Gibbas, aren't you one of the students in the I/O program at Tech now (congratulations, by the way)? How did you find out all of their offers have been extended?

I am at GT, that's how I know some offers had been extended, I believe all have been extended now because we are in the midst of planning recruitment weekend.

I emailed the head of the I/O program at Clemson and he said all initial offers have been extended, but the faculty is still making decisions on alternates. It should be about 3 weeks before they decide.

I have to admit, I'm more than a little heart broken about Tech, but you live and you learn.

Bummer on the GaTech news :( but eh, at least you're not in Ukraine!

So true! It certainly could be much, much worse. And it's okay, I still have SLU's interview next weekend, and I believe my visit to Old Dominion might also result in an offer, albeit in human factors rather than I/O. So at least there's that :)

It's truly Tech's loss, anyway. I plan on doing excellent things regardless of where I am!

Next weekend is going to be fun, guessing which of the potentials you guys are! I'm really looking forward to meeting you all in person :)

That aside, I feel like it'd be really helpful if everyone complied where they're sure they've been accepted and rejected from so far into one post. I'm really curious, plus I feel like it'll help us keep tabs on where spots might be opening, if you guys are down!

I got a phone call from Dr. Desselles yesterday at louisiana tech. They are still reviewing applications and are trying to pick a date for the interview day. It should be sometime in mid march.

Does anyone currently have an offer on the table from NC State? I was told that I am made the final cut and I am currently on the wait list. They are my #1 school and have my #1 POI, so I am hoping things work themselves out :D

So got an email from UGA (grad office) saying that mid-late march they will send out their final decisions. GWU also sent an email saying they are conducting interviews soon but depending on those outcomes, they may interview other applicants. Just updating everyone.

Did you take the Psych GRE? According to GT's I/O site, they prefer it but don't require it.  I didn't take it. I'm using that as my excuse for not getting an interview.

ohh wow, she called you? Did she call you to let you know she wants you to work with her?

Got a call from my POI at Rice University on Friday, but I was unable to get back with her that day.  She said she wanted to ask me about my "plans for study in the coming year."  Not sure if this will be an interview or what.  I suppose I will find out more when I speak with her.  Has anyone else heard from Rice?

I did. However, my scores were a hair below what I'd have liked, at 710. I reported them to Tech anyway. I consistently practice tested at 790, though, so I'm not really that upset about it, since I know that it wasn't an accurate reflection of my abilities.

That aside, my #1 POI at tech contacted me not that long ago to let me know that he'd just found out he couldn't take a student at all, but that he would have picked me. So, at least there's some comfort in that. I feel pretty confident that that's why I didn't get an interview with anyone else. I simply wasn't as good of a fit with the other professors.

Personally, I believe we wind up where we need to be. Sure is disheartening sometimes, but I believe everything will work out in the end.

I know Dr. Lautenschlager at UGA has already selected his student... I'm still crossing my fingers for the rest of them though. Just thought I'd share that if he was anyone else's POI.

Did anyone go to BG's recruitment weekend?  If so, how was it?  And did you get a feel for if they might be making more offers?

Also Dr. Kuhnert said he is not taking a student this year.
